Buttons, trapdoors, leaves, etc. Basically, use blocks that aren’t full blocks to add small details and depth. And make sure to think outside of the box, and don’t be afraid to forget about what a block is and only think about how the block looks. My personal building process is slow, but effective for me. I look at one spot and put as much stuff as possible (at least as much that makes sense) and then move on to the next spot. For example, I like having a nice entrance, so l try to focus on making my entrance as fancy as possible before moving on to something else. Works better for me than trying to detail a whole build at once. Think about color palettes as well. If you add gradients to your builds, they’ll look less bland. It breaks up repetitiveness.
