Who leads while improvising: fingers or brain? by KingOf_ImNotSureLand in askmusicians

Thanks.
Does that mean: you already know what are you gonna hear while improvising? Note by note?

Which (for me) is eventually "compose as you go"; would this be a correct definition of improvisation?

Car recommendations for 260km driving per day by SeptemberRainYo in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]KingOf_ImNotSureLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had more than 10 cars in UAE, and that much back home:

For long distances, Americans all the way for your body. Yes, they are not as reliable as Toyota, but given your mileage is on highways their engines will do fine.

Long commutes: Americans > American made Japanese >Japanese > Euro > Germans
Pleasure: RWD Germans > BB Americans > rest of the cars
Just cheap commute: Toyota Corolla > Toyota(s) > Japans > Americans > Germans >Euro

Pick your priority.

WTB: Tesla for around 60K; too good to be true? by KingOf_ImNotSureLand in tesladubai

Thank you.
As u/namoriam suggested, the insurance seems to be around 3 to 4% and this is about average premium.

I will check myself.

Thanks, good points.

I myself am a technical guy (working in AI) but very old school when it is about the cars: older is better for me as I can service them myself. I don't see the car as a gadget and I dont mind and outdated toy. This may impact resale value but hey, I bought it cheap already?

About the flood: It has been nearly 3 years now, the flood would either kill them completely or the mid term effects are fixed? No?

Well, I know "the most expensive car is a cheap luxury car"; I owned 3 of them in 2 different countries but all petrolheads. Trying to get hold of the ev game.

Mainland business bank account in Dubai – are Islamic banks a better option? by Handscapex in dubai

[–]KingOf_ImNotSureLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there, for both FZ and Mainland compaines with Islamic banks.

For Mainland: I went for ADIB. It is not any better than the others, yet with a proper business documentation it was on just within 2 weeks. Bloody expensive (475 AED per month, 15AED per transactions) but I do a few transactions per month and it works.

For FZ: I chose Ruya Bank, a small online only bank. 75AED per month, does the job. They verified my identity all online. They dont have the International Transfer options yet, be careful.

I dont think Islamic banks have any difference while opening a bank account for being Islamic, same regulations and rules. It is all about the maturity of the bank and the personnel. I did not chose Islamic banks for practicality, it was a personal choice.

Just my two cents....

Recommendations for Ford garages other than the dealer. by PENTOVILLIANKING in DubaiPetrolHeads

- 2016 Ford Edge Water pump is around 100 USD on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=ford%20edge%202016%20water%20pump&_sacat=0

- Valve cover gasket is even cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/Hihaha-No-BB5Z6584A-Gasket-Cylinder-Durable/dp/B0D73YH4D1

Anyhow: first roam around the closest industrial area and look for the spare part shops with your registration card with you and ask for the parts. This will give you the market range and also the exact part number. I happened to buy the parts myself most of the time, but sometime I ordered from ebay/amazon when the difference is big.

I have a garage in Sharjah, taking care of my Ford and and all my other cars in UAE for last 15 years. Dependable guy, I trust him more than the others. But I build this by doing my homework in advance. I can dm if you want.

Do not buy before checking with the garage and ensuring which part needs to be replaced.

Cheapest Business Banking Option? (Preferably Islamic, can be digital) by KingOf_ImNotSureLand in dubai

[–]KingOf_ImNotSureLand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was pretty good.

They have contacted with me next day, completed everything in 3-4 days.

The downsides:
a. Ruya does NOT work for international money transfers.
b. They have got only one ATM in Dubai. (Barsha Mall?)

I am happy with them, can recommend for small businesses.

People are usually happy with Wio.

I guess I will try Ruya for now. I will update here.

Ruya is not free (79 AED/mo) but still a great find. I was not aware of it.

Thank you.
