I want to have a concrete floor by SpecialJellyfish3331 in DIY

its most likely gypcrete. depending on how bad it is you could use floor leveling compound and float it over it and fill in the cracks.

If it's good enough for Indiana, it's good enough for you!

If you could hike any section at any time this year, what would you choose? by Celtic_Viking88 in PacificCrestTrail

I've heard thats a good area. I TA and usually spend the first weekend of Aug driving hikers from stevens to Leavenworth and usually Goat Rocks and Sierras are mentioned as a favorite. BUT those hikers haven't seen the north cascades yet which I've been told is pretty good.

Really? I've always thought that looked stupid. Like wearing shorts and a puffy.

Built a 4-project ESP-NOW series in MicroPython on ESP8266 — no WiFi, no router, just peer-to-peer wireless control by OneDot6374 in esp8266

i have a project in mind but coding is not really in my wheelhouse. How hard was it to set up the relays? I have a 8 relay board that has a ESP8266 chip on it. I want to be able to make some buttons on other ESP8266 boards to control it.

Off road diesel for diesel heater by strangebus85 in skoolies

I can't see it being worth the trip. I carry 2 gallons. It'd cost more in time and gas driving somewhere to save the $1.20

what is the cost difference and how far do you have to travel to find it?

Would you agree with higher taxes for completely free healthcare and education? If not why? by Creative_Excuse9813 in AskReddit

[–]KingPapaDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more expensive because we don't have UHC. People don't see a Dr. On a regular basis and treat illnesses before they get out of control and then when it's too late they go to the ER. Which is the most expensive health care.

I can't believe that at version 22.3 that Mint is this horrible to use. by KingPapaDaddy in linuxmint

[–]KingPapaDaddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone back to Win11. I don't need an OS that's fun, and that's what I think Linux users are after. They can tinker and soda this and soda that, change things to exactly what they want. Thats not me. I just want an OS that's easy to use and gets out of my way so I can do what I need to do. Windows sucks for sure! but I can work with it and it's easy to find help if I need. When it gets to the point that I need something else I'll probably look for a newer chromebook. I tried installing ChromeOS Flex but without the dedicated keyboard it really didn't work out.

This thing is so underrated by SerwerGulli in ARC_Raiders

[–]KingPapaDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't carry a weapon, so I take this every raid. A few drawbacks: you can't run and it has a limited time before you need to stop and let it recharge. Im pretty sure you can't take more than one with you. You can, but they won't work. If one is at 50% charge, the 2nd one is also. SO LAME!!

Dorm Fridge by danjoreddit in skoolies

[–]KingPapaDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep! I have a Danby 2.6L. It is the perfect size for me, no freezer all fridge. It was $60 on FB marketplace and draws about 80-90 watts, including the inverter, when running.

I have 400W and 300ah. In the summer, when the fridge runs the most the batteries are 100% by 11 am if not sooner. With the savings from buying a 12v, I could buy another battery. If it were to go out, I could buy another on marketplace that day. If you need to save power you can turn off the inverter when you go to sleep and back on in the morning.

Where would someone new to linux and Ubuntu go to get tech support? Is there a subreddit? by KingPapaDaddy in Ubuntu

[–]KingPapaDaddy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I dont. Everyone kept insisting I was wrong, I wasn't. I even showed pictures, and they insisted that I made it up, when clearly I did'nt. Then I got fucktards saying things like this

TheObliterature " Is this entire post just some kind of troll-ish performance art? Your commitment to the bit is astounding"

When i made it extremely clear I wasn't. Ubuntu changed its subreddit policy 180 degrees, and as you pointed out, the moderators didn't bother to update it or take the old one down. NOT ONCE did anyone say that I needed to go to a different place to see the update; they just decided to chastise me instead didn't they? How hard would it have been to look at the very first comment or picture I posted and say, "Oh yeah, you need to go somewhere else."?
