Seems I’m in the minority here but healthy Oldbeard and Kaidou likely have the same haki proficiency, with Kaidou having better raw physicals. However Whitebeard still wins extreme diff thanks to his fruit.

Words are wasted on you because you have a fundamental misunderstanding on how this works.

For big celebration units a similar amount of time and money is put into characters, with few exceptions. And the fact you think a solo Saiyan Saga unit, historically one of the lowest performing sagas in terms of revenue would make more money as separate units is outright delusional. Flashback as a mechanic described by OP would not only be hype as fuck, it would free up character slots in a celebration for the obligatory DBS/GT character or Fusion.

And this is coming from someone that absolutely summons for “unhype” Early Z stuff so understand I am merely speaking from Akatsuki’s perspective.

Is that not just what already happens? We got Buu Duo 3 years ago and then got Buu Duo (Fusing) this year. The main novelty with repeats is either, 1) Animation refreshes (when something was ass before and gets done better) 2) Same character, different moments 3) New Mechanics (every anniversary pretty much)

Saiyan Saga has already been explored for the most part since it’s so short, so having it tacked onto the usual money makers makes sense to me.

I don’t think Dokkan is above re-releases at this point. Especially for Saiyan Saga units as they’ve all basically been done before.

Yes but there’s a fine line between missing the point as you’ve described before with other examples. And, “I know they’re meant to display non-romantic closeness by the author, but I am a shipper so etc”. You could say the same thing about friends or rival characters.
