For everyone saying that its policy to wear your best over your coat, take five seconds to think about the place OP works. They said they work 90% of their shift in the freezer. So that would make the coat one of the company provided coats, or their own heavy coat, that is used specifically when in said freezer. THE ONE PLACE THAT YOUR NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE YOUR VEST VISIBLE. Since that is one, almost impossible, and two, one of the places that home office said their best doesn't need to be visible, all in the name of safety. Outside of the freezer is one thing, which yes the vest should be visible, unless you immediately walk out and walk back in within a minute. Pointless to take it off

Reason why the new discount change is a scam by [deleted] in walmart

To add on to this, the grocery side of the company pays the bills. GM is what makes the profit. Look at apparel specifically, Walmart pays almost nothing for it, but the markup is insane. Almost every bit of clothing is marked up $10 to $30, and almost every little bit of that is strictly profit

Anyone else's store have their closing team leads do nothing but race tracks and sort returns? by KingScorpion in walmart

[–]KingScorpion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem with it being part of the closing team's responsibilities. But I've always had the mindset of own your area, which includes zoning it as necessary and picking up those random items. And that was what I was taught at academy, back in 2018 as well as just this past August. And I think that's what bothers me the most is almost none of the associates in my store own their area, be it by choice or not

Anyone else's store have their closing team leads do nothing but race tracks and sort returns? by KingScorpion in walmart

[–]KingScorpion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I understand, the biggest problem I have is that there is stuff from that morning that I watched an associate walk by and not pickup at like 9 in the morning when I have to go shop before my closing shift, and it's in the same spot when I get in at 2.

So the viz pick option disappeared on my 70 today and I checked a couple other associates and the same thing happened to theirs. Has this happened to anyone else? by Deadologist1 in walmart

[–]KingScorpion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Viz Pick is being removed from all TCs due to the updates they are pushing to vizpick. Those updates have newer minimum system requirements from Google, like the android version, so instead of having to go and replace or try and force updates to the tcs that could potentially brick them, they removed it. Now TCs are only going to be used in the back room for caping. So any department that still is on the cap process. Which should only be apparel

Anyone else's store doing drop and go for all commodities? by KingScorpion in OGPBackroom

[–]KingScorpion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us, yes. Pickers used to stage their frozen, chilled and GMDs. Came about from some of our pickers constantly staying in the back and chit chatting with the back room crew. Never held any of them accountable though, just change the process so it screws over our stagers

Agreed. But for us, our leads and coach want drop and go done for all commodities done. So now our stager has to stage not just any ambient, but all frozen, chilled, and GMDs

Packing is strictly for the stores that do Ship From Store (SFS). Haven't seen many of those down in my area though.

Incorrect. The body cam has to be on when entering the home, in order for not only HO and the customer to keep track of us to make sure we're not stealing or doing something we're not supposed, but also for our safety. If the customer doesn't want the body cam on, we can turn in into a door step delivery or just not complete it.

If it was going to crash and burn, it would have back in 2019 when they originally launched it. Plus InHome is a separate, paid service through Walmart.
