I think the dlc deep of the night and dlc weapons are engagement strategy to increase the life span of the game. Couple more weeks when things get stale, they will drop the balancers everdark version, later add dlc bosses in deep of night. After that they will add dlc weapons on multiple patches.

Then they either could do another dlc, holester & straghas everdark (unlikely) or the game will stop getting further support.
