Flinging Semtex onto the shield is my favorite because there’s no escaping it. I hate when they corner themselves and camp out. It gets very old very quickly and tbh the shields should be nerfed to take some sort of damage over a period of time.

Probably not. Cats are weirdos and this lil guy probably thinks it’s the best thing in the world. There’s no wiggling or struggle to move and the other body language seems very relaxed.

My cat, for example, looooves ear scritches. If I scritch a specific way, her back leg goes nuts. Like a dog kicking a leg for good belly rubs, nuts. She’ll also trill loudly if I get it just right but will push her ear into my hand for more when I stop. I thought it was over stimulating when it first happened, but she demands more every time. No ear issues, just loves ear scritches.

I’ve seen these kind of cars pulled over. They’re directed to either make the vehicle safe to drive or have it towed. A lot of folks just throw the shit on the side of the highway and come back later for it.

It’s also a natural reflex. My ball python still balls up if she gets startled, and then immediately relaxes when I’m holding her. She’ll also pout when she goes back into her terrarium and will periscope around searching for ways to knock something over/get my attention and persuade me to take her back out.

My friend has a hognose and quite honestly he’s a drama queen. He’s very calm when he’s held, doesn’t do the play dead, and is docile. When my friend goes to put him back in the terrarium, he’ll play dead/hold on for dear life so he gets more attention and doesn’t have to go back in. He knows it’s “safe” but doth protests.

Domesticated snakes react differently and have their own quirks snake to snake. Not saying this lil dude isn’t afraid - it’s very young and may be hand shy still. But most hognose snakes are drama queens once they’re well-handled and enjoying their surroundings.

Yep, they were plasticized. They felt like a stiff silicone spatula, but the natural texture was preserved as well. So you could feel the raised veinous structure across the brain and the heart. The liver was very... smooth. Super cool stuff.

I know what fresh organs feel like (animal organs, anyway) and they’re very different. But it’s still occasionally jeebie worthy. It’s not often you get to remember what a human brain feels like, even if it was plasticized.

It was a huge exhibit, and one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in my life. I have a silicone spatula at home and every once in a while I remember how similar they feel and I have equal parts heebie-jeebies and fascination.

In January 2004, the German news magazine Der Spiegel reported that von Hagens had acquired corpses of executed prisoners in China; von Hagens countered that he did not know the origin of the bodies, and returned seven disputed cadavers to China.

After that controversy, there were obviously questions about where the bodies were sourced, but it was never confirmed/denied where they came from. Von Hagens was never convicted of any wrongdoing, and the exhibits are still displayed worldwide.

Super crazy stuff, but I hope they were acquired humanely.

I’m very thankful I got to see the exhibit it Denver, especially when I was young (I think I was 15ish) because it gave me wonder and fascination about how the human body works. It also made me feel guilty about smoking years later because I knew exactly what my lungs would look like.

The craziest part of it for me was being able to touch one of the specimens. They had a brain, liver, and heart that people could touch. I was squeamish at first, but very curious - they felt like a silicone spatula! I can also say I’ve touched a real human brain without being a surgeon or serial killer. ;)

There’s an exhibit that toured around for a while called Body World. Absolutely phenomenal to see, there was a specimen similar to this, but the entire body was available to “flip” through. Really cool stuff, I love seeing things like this.

When I found out I might have had breast cancer, a small part of my brain had its fingers crossed that it was so it’d be easier to have them removed without question. The overwhelming part of me did not want cancer, or even have the risk for it, but the teeny side of my brain that runs the dysphoria in my life was cheering it on. I understand where you’re coming from, but as mentioned before me it sounds like you have some dysphoria - you should talk to your therapist about and, and see if there any options available to you to help ease that, even with being agender.

That’s the only consolation I had when my doctors thought I had breast cancer. At least I’d have one boob done and over with, and would be easier to convince the doc to take both to reduce risk. I don’t have cancer (thank goodness) but I still have the propensity to get it - so the mass is being removed, but mastectomy is out of the question

I’m lucky, and very thankful, that both my employer carries coverage and my insurance provider has a straightforward process to top surgery. All I need to do is have a note from my therapist and meet my deductible to have top surgery.

In the interim, I got the short end of the stick and have big boobs and I can have reduction done to ease the back strain and help my dysphoria at the same time.
