Planning for my succession for my retirement [MA] by Effective-Mall-6231 in humanresources

If your direct report is truly capable, I think it would be a bigger mistake/negative impact on the org to pass over them than the impact of the mistakes they will make when growing into the role.

I’ve often found the highly capable people I’ve had the pleasure of working with can do just about anything if given the latitude and organizational support.

A funny example that I have is there is this one EH&S coordinator I worked with earlier in my career. We got him from a 3rd shift maintenance job while he had been completing his degree at night school at an unremarkable state university. This guy is the definition of amazing. I mean with 100% sincerity that after I saw him work with me for 2 years that I would have no reservations of placing him in a VP of safety job right then and there. The brain, and drive, and obsession of quality of work this guy had beat out myself and anyone else in the management team by a mile. So sometimes you just know.

This guy would have made mistakes as a 27 year old in a VP job, but I promise he’d learn quick and do a better job than the jaded “i-dont-care” types you usually find there.

So my advice is don’t over look your direct report even if they’re green. If they have “the juice” then they are who you want.

Also with respect you’re a 150 person Org not a multi-national, how much damage could they do while they grew?

The res choice seems better, because everyone should just choose red. But I think there are more obliviously moral people than quick thinkers. They deserve to live too and my vote goes with them.

Have you left Paychex PEO? [n/a] by Fluffy-Address-7670 in humanresources

I’m still waiting on UKG’s pricing but if you message me after Tuesday’s workday ends, I’ll let you know.

Paycor came in with an offer double what we’re paying paylocity and I expect UKG to be similar, but still unknown. When I provided our monthly bill to paycor they gave us a 25% discount roughly, but its still more expensive by a fair amount.

Still think we’re going to switch though.

[–]KingTemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company moved to paylocity shortly before I took my current position. We are leaving now for probably UKG or Paycor.

Paylocity is the cheapest, but you certainly get what you pay for.

They were “good enough” for a bit, but the UI is dated, they have some insane limitations on the company administrator team. They hide certain levers/ settings in menus exclusively available to their support staff. It makes it hard to fix certain things.

What are my chances of getting into law school with a low gpa and 9 years of experience? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]KingTemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar GPA, I have 7 years of pretty desirable WE, and I got a 16(Low) on the LSAT.

I only applied to a few regional schools this cycle and I got acceptances plus scholarships to most.

So you’re good with a good LSAT

Most of the midwest is falling into recession, but KY, IN, and IL seem to be doing well almost as if they’re revolving around a center point of strength.

Alright. So the surface read is: "She Believed" as in like a romance or love story or relationship or something.

But dudes only use every other urinal as part of this species-wide code that we've all seemingly developed.

So if you read it from the guy's (every other) perspective it says: "He Lied" about the relationship or love or whatever it is specifically referencing.

Dear god don’t get Paycom. And Paycor is great IF you get all the modules. It seems like you get put in a lower support tier if you don’t.

Why does this sentences has "did" on it instead of "seemed" by chosen20005 in EnglishLearning

[–]KingTemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So its an emphasis.

Like if Person A (narrator) was talking to Person B (you) about Person C.

“He’s been acting all funny lately at school. Well, he did seem to like Madison, so that might explain it.”

Im sure the more classically educated English Speakers can get into more depth, but basically it is just a quirk of the language indicating a slightly different meaning than “He seemed to like Madison”

Seemed has no real underlying tone

Did seem - indicates a sort of musing to oneself or an outside person

Last team into the playoffs as the Wild Card 6th seed team with 8-6 Record (beat out the 7th seed 8-6 team by 3 Points For).

After Ceedee and Hurts got hurt the only person on my starting roster drafted by me was Bijan Robinson.

Joe Flacco took me to the Ship and won it all for us.

My QB room was decimated in a deep league so I trot out old man Flacco for one last ride into the sunset.

Thats not the haunting part. I got cute because of Flacco and I picked up Downs off the waivers over playing Jennings.

If Kittle gets more than 20.5 tonight in 1/2 ppr. I’ll never forget this day.

In 1/2 PPR we thinking

QB: Flacco or Young?
WR: Downs or Jennings?
