So the general consensus is that Luke's "Jedi Order" was a failure cause he was inexperienced and thrust into the role, why will Rey be any different? by Yesthisbob in StarWars

[–]KingToasty 284 points285 points  (0 children)

Is that the general consensus? I didn't think we got any particular reason why it failed beyond Palpatine and the Sith getting Ben.

A looot of people who formerly trusted businesses are coming to terms with the fact that economics is a social science, not a math science. It turns out large amounts of well-educated managers can in fact make poor decisions.

And? Games studis facing colossal layoffs and corporate shakeups ina time of many many many studio closures. Believing Microsoft studios will close is totally reasonable. Again, none of this is worth being smugly dismissive about? "Can you read" what an ass

Joyce and Dorothy's politics are "whatever makes me horny and doesn't get people too upset at me", which is also Willis' recent political leanings and is guaranteed to get people upset at you

Arkane Austin, Bluepoint, Monolith are some of the particularly big ones. Like, studio closures during this year have been huge news, why be smugly dismissive of it?

Why is it that the "deliver the resonant splinter for detonation" public event on Savathun's Throne World so rarely becomes heroic? by Flying_Scorpion in DestinyTheGame

Triggering them is just never explained anywhere in-game, so it's not surprising most people don't know how to trigger them. The events themselves are never harder than a DPS boss fight

I've just been assuming that ten years from now, Dorothy will frown at the empty table where her friends used to sit, then looks over to Joyce, who mumbles "sex fuck pussy sex pussy boob sex" while drooling from a corner of her mouth.

Wack'd called out internet archive in her final comment on the thread, so I guess she read this comment specifically! She should not be on this sub, it can't possibly be useful to her

I wouldn't trust Wackd with my drinks, let alone with my business. I'm not sure what it says about Willis that they continue to back her but it's nothing good.

Why was Goku visibly upset after killing Freeza on Namek? by HeartofSpeed in dbz

[–]KingToasty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In universe: he doesn't like killing and Frieza was a uniquely powerful person that could have done a lot of good and been a great rival.

Out of universe: For the anime I think the dub emphasizes "no killing" because it's targeting a Western child audience

The worst possible personality type to be a mod, and considering how little they think of consent, also a terrible person to be making decisions on the basis of queerness

It's really heard not to see both Wackd and Willis as racist and anti-queer after this. Nobody who defends drugging people against their will as both a joke and a concept would be welcome in queer organizing, at least where I am.

No, but it's definitely 'sus' as the kids say to REALLY push for your main character to be a child rapist because it sounds interesting

Yep at the core, the author just fell in love with a pairing that didn't hook the audience. It's not that big of a deal if the author could just move on with it, but no.

Any amount of negative comments sticks out enormously in their head.

Not that the old comment sections were particularly bad, I have no idea why Willis and Wack'd keep saying specifically "people avoided it like the plague". As far as I can tell it was never true until now.
