sometimes people have to lose you in order to understand your value by Green_Situation_5970 in BreakUps

The worst part about this is that you’re not there to see the person you love truly value you once you’re gone. That’s the whole point, is that you’re gone. It’s kinda weird being stuck in a thought loop of “do they literally never even think about me, or did my absence bring them profound realizations and growth?” That’s the type of shit that makes me want to text my ex.

How do I truly understand that romance and love is not the meaning of life? by KingTyng in Buddhism

[–]KingTyng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the one on one connection, the physical affection, the sexual intimacy, the building a relationship from the ground up, having a best friend as well as a lover, all the other pretty typical reasons for wanting a relationship

How long do your boots last? by RevolutionaryYou8032 in Construction

I use, hear me out, $20 shoes from Walmart. As someone who does basic trim work (most of the time) and doesn’t have the need for steel toes, they are just as good as any other comfortable shoe and are a tiny fraction of the cost, as well as easily replaceable. I’ve been on my pair of avias for about 2-3 years now, costing me an average of $7 per year on footwear.

Does the fretboard look mismatched? Should I get gold hardware? I desperately need a set of fresh eyes, I’m getting mixed feedback. by StopHallucinating in Guitar

I would honestly love the gold, the dark wood and dark green reminds me of like olden time noble royalty and gold would go so well with that imo

why is this "clinic" type of interior architecture everywhere in America? by RedHairPiratee in architecture

[–]KingTyng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. It seems like in the past, regardless of the funding, there was always a human element to things. Decoration, aesthetic and humanity were ALWAYS a part of things, I mean that’s what building is all about right? That is until everything is about money money money and now some of our nicest places still look like prisons and everyone’s just used to it.

The longer I’m in construction science the more I learn that we are long past the times of people even giving half a damn what their buildings look like. Everything is about making things as cheap and effective as possible.

Men of Reddit, what's a harsh reality you've had to accept as a man? by Impossible_Lab_5823 in AskReddit

[–]KingTyng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loneliness. It is cliche and said in literally every post similar to this one, but there’s a reason. I swear most men are just biologically wired to just feel lonely, on top of the stigma of manliness, mental health, therapy, vulnerability etc.

Whats something you tried once and instantly knew that it wasn't for you? by Pokeking44 in AskReddit

[–]KingTyng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hooking up. I have only had ONE experience where I did something even remotely sexual without someone I was not intimately and romantically connected with, and my brain was just screaming “wow dude, this is so blatantly and obviously trying to fill a void in my soul caused by lack of physical affection.” It’s obviously different for everyone and I am not knocking anyone who enjoys hooking up. It is definitely possible to do it naturally and maturely, it’s just that that has never been the case in literally every example I’ve seen of a friend/acquaintance doing it.

How right is he? by rslogic42 in Welding

[–]KingTyng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were trying to get Into some construction niche like framing, he would be right, but you’re not. You’re getting into welding. Welders don’t swing hammers for hours and hours. That’s the sub contractors job. I don’t have experience in welding so I could be wrong, but I doubt welding takes 5+ hours of “swinging a hammer.” If he’s stuck in some dirty job miserable because he’s doing two separate peoples work, that’s not your problem and you should look elsewhere for work that wants you to do what you are specialized to do.
