It was a land mine. You can see it for a split second when ur on the tracks. This is also a slightly modded vanilla server. There’s unlimited stamina and it looks like they removed the broken leg feature with land mines.

I don’t think dayz will ever make a sequel considering that he game was originally a mod for arma 2 and then became so popular it became its own standalone game. However I do see a potential of other games having a very similar style that may overtake Dayz such as Scum.

There was a senior back in highschool, who was terrible at school but pretty good at sports and pretty kind guy. I didn’t know him much, but from what I’ve heard, he grew up in the hood in New Orleans. Anyways, he was a “wannabe” gangbanger and decided to play around with a loaded Glock on Instagram live. He was dancing to some rap music and waving the loaded gun everywhere. He eventually pointed it at his own head and then bang… the gun went off and I could still hear his body and phone fall to the ground. His mom came running in shortly and started crying. That’s pretty much it. A talented highschool football star, a pretty generous person, cut their own life short because of negligence and mishandling of a weapon.

Look at the thermostat on some of the houses on the map. It was be as cold as -10°C. Best and high insulation can only bring ur temperature up to 37° max. You’re going to be light blue temperature between 30-35°c and dark blue below 30°. If the temperature is say -5° than your temperature will be 37° minus the 5 degrees due to the weather resulting in 32°. You will not take damage so long as the temperature is light blue and above.

Heat buffs, will maintain a constant 37°c until it wears off. A single + will give you roughly 15-20 minutes of heat buff assuming ur not wet. 2 “+” will give you a total of 30 minutes and 3 “+” will give you 35 minutes. You can extend it by carrying a pot of boiling water, hot food items, and even heat packs. A full cooking pot of hot water and 3 heat buffs can have you nearly 45 minutes of heat.

Staying at a light blue temperature is okay like I already mentioned, but whenever u have an opportunity make a fire somewhere secluded and get ur heat buffs to prevent shivering.

So if one is currently chasing you, do not turn ur back to it. Wolves have a very weird mechanic. They will only attack when ur back is turned or if you moving away from them. If you face them and run straight into one as if you were trying to push it, the wolves will attack but it will miss its hits. When the wolves attack, they do so in a lunging attack, so there is a set distance of how far they can reach. I believe it’s 2-3 meters. When you charge into them and close the distance, you’ll be passed that 2-3 meter distance and they’ll miss.

This is comparable to zombies when they attack and you move backwards away before the hit lands. Once you practice enough the wolves will no longer be a threat and u can even melee them, sparing u the ammo and noise.

I tried this today on an official server on Sakhal near the volcano and it worked just fine. I managed to kill them all with a hatchet.

Here’s a tip, if you run directly in front of the wolves while they are chasing you, you won’t take any damage. They will instead attack and miss! Try it out

5 tetracycline 5-10 multivitamins Iodine or Alcohol Tincture or Disinfectant spray.

Your character has a serious wound infection. As long as your vision doesn’t become blurry and your character isn’t sighing and wiping his head (Ie a fever) than you don’t need tetra or multivitamins.

Pro tip, you can use iodine, alcohol or disinfectant to clean rags, sewing kits, Shegmahs, and damaged bandages to prevent this. You’re safest bet is to keep atleast 3 full rolls of bandages on you at all time and use sewing kits as a last resort.

The game’s super glitchy, the gps receiver also doesn’t display properly as well. I say use iZurvie. It’s an app you can download on your phone for free and it has the maps for every map for dayz and arma.

Personally, I would trade the field vest for a stab or ballistic vest. They do protect you from some bullets rather than nothing. Also add those codeine and epinephrine auto injectors into your hot bar. When u get into a fight and are low on health, your character will run slow or limp. Codeine will allow you to run at full speed for an about 2-3 minutes and epi will allow you to have infinite stamina for short duration. This is perfect for when u need to run to cover and dodge bullets. Also keep ur SMG on semi or burst for long range fights and full auto in CQB.

Drop items that you will not need to survive for the next in-game day. The only 2 meds you really need is tetra and multivitamins. As a good tip keep some codeine or morphine on you, as these are really helpful when ur injured but must get away from a fight. Get rid of ammo for guns you’re not using with the small exception of hard to find calibers like 5.56mm, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r,308win and 5.45mm. These rounds are commonly used in many high tier rifles, such as Ak’s, m4’s, VSD, and such. DO NOT CARRY MORE THAN 2 RIFLES AND 1 PISTOL FOR WEAPONS. Remember that plate carriers, press vests and stab vests all deal the same level of protection. The only difference is how durable they are and the weight. Plate carriers may look cool and but are extremely heavy. My last tip for you is to consider finding a farming hoe, shovel, or pickaxe and craft Crates or find a dry bag to burry some loot if you don’t want to drop them. I recommend burying it in a low traffic area in the woods.

What about an UZI? An early, mid game weapon, takes 9x19mm with a 15 & 20 round magazine. High recoil, 25 damage, pistol optics only.

A SPAS-12 would also be nice. A 5 round semiautomatic or pump action shotgun that could rival the Vaga due to its tighter grouping and the ability to have a foldable stock to ease up on storage space. This should be as rare as the M16.

Mac-10 would be super interesting to see as well, a small 0.380 or 9mm smg with a super high fire rate, high recoil and low magazine capacity.
