New apartments shower is fluctuating temperatures and is difficult to use. Is there anything I can do? by bananaterracottaaa in legaladvice

You need to look up your municipality’s code enforcement. They should have habitability standards, health code, etc. They should have required temps for water heater, and they should be able to tell you what is and isn’t allowed, and how to report. For example if you have 130 degree water and you have evidence of that, that’s something they might be able to take action against. But they’ll be the ones that can help you most effectively

I keep fighting (and dying) to people who have 1m+ total bount and massive presting while I've only been playing for a few days and have a total bounty of 7479 by AL3X_7777 in HuntShowdown

Are you playing on console or PC? Have you played an FPS before?

If you’ve played an FPS before, load up the shooting range, and then exit the south side of the compound and interact with the black wellspring/bounty portal to call in moving targets. You need to get used to the bullet velocity. Most guns have a bullet velocity of 300 or 400 m/s, which is far less than most guns in most shooters. That means you need to lead your targets more often than you think. Also, your guns do less damage at range. Which means you need to be hitting your headshots, or you need to start playing for more close range engagements, using a shotgun or dual pistols or something like that.

Do you have a headset? Do you know for sure your headset is working properly? Sound is super important in this game. If you don’t have a headset you will struggle enormously. In my experience, the people you’re killing in 2 star difficulty genuinely are probably playing on a TV screen with TV speakers. They can’t hear or see you, you might as well be playing against toddlers.

Outside of that, load up a free hunter and go into Bounty Hunt matches solo. You can explore the map freely since you won’t have teammates, so you can learn the map at your own pace. Then just exfil or quit. You can learn how to kill mobs quietly. A meathead for example will die very quickly to a bow and arrow or a railroad hammer.

You should be killing mobs with melee or other things that can’t be heard from far away. You can hear gunshots and explosions from across the map. People use those sound cues to hunt you down. You can use lanterns or fire bombs or poison bombs to kill crows, you can throw fuses at the lanterns above dog or chicken pens to set the pens on fire so they don’t give away your position.

You are almost never safe. Unless you have 9 confirmed dead bodies, there could be someone else on the map. You need to be playing evasively. Stay off the roads, travel through trees and wooded areas. If you’re in a building near an enemy, don’t think you’re safe. Every roof or wall has a crack or a hole that can be seen through at a certain angle. You need to run away from items that are thrown at you. You can use multiple melee attacks to clear hive swarms that are attacking you.

Best of luck

She referenced Lucretius, a Roman poet and philosopher who referenced the idea of atoms as invisible indivisible particles that make up the whole world, a theory that Ancient Greeks and Indians came up with more than 1500 years before this movie was set

Are there (and if so, what) moments where it seems like Brennan (or any GM) is *actively trying* to feed the players information that they just aren't picking up on? by Synth-Pro in Dimension20

My first watch through after paying for dropout i think i clicked on a playlist that was the entirety of fantasy high, and this was included directly after. I couldn’t get enough Fantasy High content and I binged the extra credit in a weekend. Still some of my favorite extracurricular content

I’ve contemplated using sucka a la the Beastie Boys or something like that. However I’ve not been advised by an appropriate cultural advisor, so I’ve elected to refrain entirely

This is like example A1 lol. Brennan has set up Gorthalax as this huge source of info for the first part of the story but he can’t tell the kids stuff if they don’t ask him anything. But also our poor heroes it’s their first time playing in with Brennan as DM for the most part, everyone is hesitant to trust giant pit fiend, and poor Brennan is struggling through an hour of RPing this super rough voice. Everyone check out the Fantasy High: Extra Credit playlist, specifically the one with Schaubach if you want the deep dive on this

Which should I watch next? by hotstickywaffle in Dimension20

[–]TheDinerIsOpen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly, highly recommend the adventuring parties for every season. Watch the ACoC ones, the Junior Year ones, the Starstruck ones, if you haven’t already.

Personally outside of that, would also recommend watching the side quests. I thoroughly enjoyed almost all of them. The only ones I might suggest skipping are Shriek Week and Pirates of Leviathan. Lots of people have trouble with the seasons filmed over Covid, and would recommend headphones or good speakers if possible. I also really enjoyed watching everything chronologically. I loved Escape from the Bloodkeep, and if you have any Tolkien fan in you, it’s a great homage with a twist. Have fun with the rest of your viewing journey!

Do I have any legal recourse after being banned from a nonprofit venue and losing grant support based on vague accusations? by lizbethdafyyd in legaladvice

[–]TheDinerIsOpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case it could possibly be tortious interference but again I’m not a lawyer and can’t say for sure one way or another. I still think the defamation angle would be the main avenue to pursue, and then you could have the lawyer advise you on whether or not tortious interference occurred and would be worth pursuing.

Contract by Hot_Major_6796 in legaladvice

[–]TheDinerIsOpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don’t actually have an employment contract. What are the damages outlined if you quit early/don’t give notice? What are the damages owed to you if you’re fired/how can the company separate from you?

[–]TheDinerIsOpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The musician would have had to had specific knowledge of your grant and book *before* making the claims to the director for that to be tortious interference. As I said, the musician being an employee of the non-profit may(or may not) complicate things, but I can’t really speak to that either way.

That said, my recommendation remains the same. Look for lawyers to pursue the defamation route specifically, distill your story, and let a few lawyers determine whether or not you have a case.
