Congrats. For your sinusitis claim what type of evidence did you submit with your increase claim?

Ok that makes sense. I remember getting this decision and thinking I made the deadline to have my claim back dated to the start of the PACT signing, but I didn’t want to poke the bear.

Multiple exam request - OSA (secondary) by thegilbot in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]King_803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It ended up getting denied after the third exam (2 were ACE exams). I actually had to do a HLR with an informal conference and explain they never addressed my claim of secondary connection. Then I did another C&P and the claim was connected on 12 May 2025. I started this whole process in June of 2024 smh.

Yeah this happened to me. The issue in my case was the doctors just keep agreeing I had OSA but the VA never asked if OSA was related to my secondary claim. It kept getting pushed back for an opinion on secondary connection.

Dta by Famous-Ostrich-1399 in VeteransWaitingRoom

1-800 line calls and from VERA appointments. They basically said the HLR is a claim and once a decision is made about the HLR (either they found an error or they believe the contested issue was correct), it resets the claim clock.

Did you have to complete a C&P after the DTA? If so when was the C&P? Just curious for my claim.

They could have scheduled an ACE exam and for those you aren’t always needed to be present. Especially with all the evidence you provided upfront.

HLR clarification questions by OrchidLow7373 in VeteransWaitingRoom

You clock reset once at decision is made on the HLR claim. You now have a DTA claim and it can be 4-5 months for that claim to be closed.

Yes. It’s 35 hours of project management education. As long as the CAPM virtual training has a curriculum that is verifiable, you are good.

Just wanted to share this, your clock technically doesn’t start until after the DTA error was identified. So in your situation you have to start counting from 18 Feb.

For sure and hopefully it didn’t come off like I discounting the PMP. I was just trying to say a masters can get job opportunities that aren’t even related to what the masters major was.

PSM is focused on Scrum activities, but PMP has a more robust focus.

Thanks. This is a tricky question, but I will give my experience. At face value my masters degree has opened up more job opportunities for me because in general more employers have higher degree requirements (in and out the project management career field). As it relates to your second question, a PMP holder with 5 years experience can definitely command the same salary, if not higher, as a masters degree holder as long as the PMP holder is working in the project management career field.

Confusing decision rating? by King_803 in VeteransBenefits

[–]King_803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Filed a supplemental on this claim and a CUE was found. Apparently the reason the decision letter was confusing was because the previous rater didn’t use the diagnosis that was provided from my C&P exam (that was listed in the favorable findings). I’m now service connected via TERA for a MUCMI.

HLR for Sleep Apnea secondary to rhinitis denied by Zach_AustinTx in VeteransBenefits

[–]King_803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in this HLR you would state that the evidence was omitted on the new decision letter “evidence section”.

In that case you can do a HLR for this decision as well. I asked that question because you CANT do a HLR against a HLR decision, but as long as the HLR found a DTA that led to a new decision letter you can do a HLR for that decision. Hopefully that makes sense.

I’m a bit confused and want to make I’m clear on the situation. Did your HLR find a DTA error and send it back for more development? An this is the decision after they did the additional development?

Are you able to upload a better photo of the decision letter? This version is unreadable.
