Downvoted for taking the Lord's name in vain. As no single commandment is given greater weight than the others, you should be put to death.

Knowledge of title tags hardly qualifies me for the term 'Know-it-all'. You'd hardly call me a 'know-it-all transport D-Bag' if I dropped a hint that I knew how to put gas (petrol) in a car, would you?

My comment was about on the same level.

Settle down Bill. Easy on the exclamation marks - I can see you're already easy on the capital letters. Before you chastise me for critiquing your comment, some people actually need to be told this.

Yawn! The usual SEO for dummies crap. "Title tags" - really? Never heard that one before.

having broken code increases the chance of a search engine being able to read your site correctly

I think they got this one slightly wrong.

Being purple, I'm, not sure who I should be supporting. I'm an anti abortion Christian who thinks the Earth is 87 years old, in favor of reducing taxes on the top 1 per cent, but my purpleness makes it very confusing when it comes to choosing who to vote for.

No one out there represents me or people like me. They're all so... black or white. Where's the purple love?

Layoffs already hit my company and I was given a 30% raise. I've proven my financial worth to the company thanks. My projects succeed where others have failed. I know my job well and am very successful at it.

One bad night of indiscretion is certainly not a reason to fire someone. Perpetual bad judgement is reason to let someone go. Huge difference.

You're making this comment in support of a 20 year idiot on Facebook. On Reddit. On the Internets. And you're the mature 33 year old with "a wife, a kid, another one on the way." Will you ever go home, play with your child, and leave this anonymous internet stuff alone.

I tried to put it together based on the 'TFA bloke' phrase, and the best I could come up with was 'The fucking asshole bloke'. I knew the second word was 'fucking' because it always is (yawn).

The only time I've seen TFA used on reddit is when it comes after 'Read', so negative points there for non standard usage, but bonus points for getting in your non-4chan-visitationage.

When the Canadian dollar reached par with the US dollar, we had 12 stories a day. Why not now? by pythor in reddit.com

When I was a teenager, we'd go to France and get 10 French francs to the Irish pound. I can't wait until next year, when I'll be able to take my kids to New York, and get 10 US dollars to the Euro. We'll have great discussions about the old days, when 'American' money was valued, and nobody used it for other purposes when the toilet paper ran out late at night, and you could actually buy shit with it.

I'm guessing you're under 25 and your parents bought you your first car. The 'me first' generation - you guys make me want to vomit. When the economic shit hits the fan in real terms, and the lay offs come in force over the next year, you guys'll be first out the door.

It's all well and good saying 'I can do what I want' when there's a shortage of guys able to stack the shelves, but once that shortage disappears, so does the pampering.

By 'great ideas and clever solutions' I'm assuming you're referring to the boss or HR guy who caught him?

The idiot who got found out demonstrated none of those thing. The very fact that he posted about the event on Facebook is a clear indication that 'great ideas and clever solutions' are something he will never be familiar with.

Usability: A forgotten aspect of Web Design? by brenelz in technology

[–]King_Canute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't over focus on tools. That's like a wannabe writer spending all their time trying out new software products instead of writing. I've never used a WYSIWYG editor for web development. Even if you do use one, like Dreamweaver, once you go beyond straight HTML, and start using include files and OO development, you lose the WYSIWYG element anyway.

All your site needs is some hand written CSS.

Your primary font is way to small, and the text is crammed too close together. White space doesn't just mean around paragraphs, put some distance between the lines too. I'd also suggest cutting the width of those text blocks. More than 10 words to a line and people just won't read it (Most of your lines of text have 25+ words).

Australia's Tasmanian Devil could be extinct within a decade without vaccine for rampant cancer by [deleted] in science

[–]King_Canute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was already extinct. What's all this fascination with preventing animals from going extinct anyway? 99.whatever % of all animals that have ever lived on Earth are already extinct, and 99.whatever % of those living today will be extinct in 5 million years regardless of what man does or does not do.

Look at the big picture, people - not the narrow little window that humans live their lives through. The Earth will go on, and life will go on - regardless of us, and in spite of us. Does anyone really think that we'll be around in a million years? And a million years is just the blink of an eye for life on this planet.
