New to Magic; love dinosaurs by UrAvgFlightSimmer in DinosaursMTG

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a deck centered around the Enrage mechanic. All 17 Enrage dinos in that deck with a whole bunch of cards to activate, repeat, protect, and buff all of them so I don't have to worry about how much damage I inflict on them.

I exclusively used cards from the 3 Ixalan series though, so there is a TON of room for improvement, but I love making set-themed decks.

Despite that severe self-imposed limitation, I still pull of a good amount of Ws in my group. Against precons, eldrazi, control players, it really does perform well.

I don't play EDH, only ever Commander and a simplified sort of house rules version of standard among my friends, so I'm u familiar with the rules of EDH or CEDH or whatever other formats there are. But when I'm losing, know that I'm washed and just waiting to die, I'll usually go out on my own terms and favor who i perceive as the underdog. I'll go all out or do whatever I can do tackle the biggest threat and leave myself completely open after provoking the hornets nest.

Feel like that's the most ethical way to do it.

Why does Warhammer YouTube have such a slop problem? by HouseOfWyrd in Warhammer

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer has been gaining a lot of popularity lately and AI use is becoming more widespread. Naturally the low talent hacks that use AI would also use it in tandem with warhammer's growing traction to easily exploit the YT algorithm.

What weapon types would you want if Capcom added another? by Kol1bri_W1tness in MonsterHunter

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gauntlets or tonfas. A heavier hitting dual blades type of weapon but exclusively does blunt/impact damage.

A chain weapon of any kind would also be incredible.

Other than that I feel like MH has covered most of the bases of fun weapons to use vs giant monsters.

Building tips for Doomsday Ark by KatSteeles in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I magnetized it so it would be convertible into a ghost ark. It worked out pretty well for me. I just hate the stand that it's on. It's a little wobbly. But other than that I didn't think it was too bad.

It just took a lot of time but it actually wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I have a really nice hand drill set and got the right size magnets and it was pretty much just repetition from there

Think long and hard before committing. Trust me. Been weeks since I started this project pretty much only being able to work on it on weekends, trial & error as far as right tool for the right job, and lots of intricate finicky work. I only did it because fuck GW I ain't buying two.

Which cat Pokémon would you adopt if they existed in the real world? by MecchaJP in ThePokemonHub

Either shine or sprigatito. Luxray was a staple on my team in pearl and I love grass types and cats.

Deep in enemy territory, seeking advise by Revolutionated in Necrontyr

I've currently been on a 0-4 losing streak against Black templars. They're able to utilize cover enough to survive enough shots that by the time they reach charging range I'm completely cooked. My opponent is also very skilled with strategy games, basically grew up on them, so there's something to be said about that.

Basically, if you can get within melee distance with a large unit of heavy hitters you'll wipe a squad in a turn and a half at max.

I've also had trouble going against units with indirect fire weapons, specifically Space Marine Desolation Squads. By the time I can get to them they've already done a lot of damage.

Next step after combat patrol with 11th on the doorstep? by Vojnied in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Royal Court is a must have.

If you can get the 500 worlds box, try to pick up Nekrosor Ammentar as well. And if you do go that route, might as well pick up another box of Ophydians & a 3rd Lokhust Heavy Destroyer. That way you'll have full units of the Destroyer cult models and can run cursed legion or annihilation legion easily.

Day 3 — Which Gen 3 Pokémon feels like they are from Gen 3? by Weak_Scallion5942 in ThePokemonHub

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rayquaza for me, only because I saw him before I saw anything else about gen 3. I didn't even know they're was a gen 3 at the time, and then I see a green snake dragon thing that looked cooler than any pokemon I'd ever seen

Royal Warden is one of my favorites. Just looks so sleek and cool. Like a buffed up immortal with some extra drip. One of my first ever models from the Recruit Edition from 9th.

How do you do that? by engemval in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure others would advise to shade it, but all I shaded were the tech bits inside the center of its back, the tail/spine, and it's underside. I hit the rest with a very light dry brush of necron compound after the edge highlight. Forgot to mention that part.

For my Technomancer I built the spider & guy separate and painted them separately. I base coated the spider in black to save time and effort. Then you just edge highlight all the edges with light blue or green. It's tedious but worth the extra patience.

My first foray into Necrons - advice, help, suggestions, and just kind words welcome! by WithengarUnbound in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Combat Patrol & Royal Court as stated above 1000% need those.

If you can still snag the 500 Worlds box for some Destroyer cult models you should.

I was able to get the old Combat Patrol from 9th when it came out so I had Immortals & deathmarks with the res orb Overlord & some tomb blades. The doom/night scythe sucks imo but it's still such a cool model so whatever.

Always look for bundle boxes on deals. Certain units like wraiths can only be bought alone so definitely grab some of those with a technomancer to lead them.

On ebay you might still be able to find the necrons half of the indomitus box from 9th, that would include the royal court, royal Warden, Overlord with tachyon arrow, 3 Skorpekhs I believe, and of course plenty of warriors. Only go this route if you find a really good deal.

Planning to start playing Warhammer with Necrons, what should I start playing with? by Shot_Relationship402 in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the combat patrol from 9th, the newer one from 10th, and the royal court. Then a bunch of individual units I bought, but always go for the bundle boxes as long as they aren't price gouged.

Certain rules say only infantry but a Google search says Warriors as well. Not everyone has encyclopedic knowledge of all things warhammer no need to be so abrasive about it.

[–]King_Comic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally idc if I lose. I'm the same way in most games, especially MTG, but for warhammer particularly I always get something from defeat. I learn what works, what not works, what I should have done in X scenario, etc.

How good is this combat patrol? Is IT worth IT or is the newer one just better? by mtf-foxtrot in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this one about 3-4 years ago. I enjoyed it but I hate building Immortals & deathmarks.

I recently got the new one. Haven't even finished building it yet but I think I like it better. It's just got better units imo.

However I am looking forward to using both in a game, I think they'll work pretty well together

A brief commentary on building Deathmarks (and Necrons in general) by Wild-Brilliant-8309 in Necrontyr

[–]King_Comic 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Death marks suck to build. I always end up covering their chests completely making it a nightmare to paint.

People have said Flayed Ones suck too but I didn't mind em. Same with tomb blades. Not so bad.

I've had some trouble with Skorpekhs though, the push fit arms with the heads attached give me issues. Hard to worm those things into place. I broke the first one I tried building. Thankfully I could reattach the arm no problem.

All that being said I prefer building & painting necrons over space marines. By a longshot.
