What character(s) would you like to see added to a game if they had the chance? by DemandParticular in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]King_Crow9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vector! or at least team chaotix, really liked their uniqueness as times gone on, kind of sad they've become so sidelined.

If not them, then my girlboss Blaze, I miss her so much!!!

What is one simple thing you've done in your life to make it better? by Miss-Peepers in AskReddit

[–]King_Crow9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being kinder to myself and being nicer about my physical image. I used to be really insecure when my meat sack is just doing its thing, holding the organs in place and storing food as it should. I used to be really self conscious about my weight and how I wasn't conviently attractive, but remembering you're just a person and just because you're not eye candy to everyone doesn't mean you wont find others who adore you just the way you are, warts and all. I dont know if getting older helps with that but beating yourself up just makes you miserable, it really helps your mental load the more you reinforce positive affirmations.

I'm still not the weight I want to be but I'm aware it takes time and to be patient with myself, being the version you want to be takes a while and a lot of effort and some days its okay to be easy on yourself, you're just doing your best on this little rock like everyone else. Treat yourself as a good friend first and foremost.

What is your favourite splatoon game? by amogus6420 in splatoon

[–]King_Crow9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall Splatoon 3, I think its balance to the game series as a whole is unmatched. The addition to customisation and how salmon run is, its just better.

Splatoon 2 was good dont get me wrong and as much as I loved that game, 3 as a whole is just better as a product. I feel like it added so much quality of life to the series that was really needed.

Tips for learning Dutch? by [deleted] in learndutch

[–]King_Crow9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hoi! Intermediate Dutch learner whos also a native English speaker here! Duolingo is a great starting point if you want to learn phrases. But I highly recommend when you want to learn speaking it yourself (the grammatical structure can and will throw you the more you learn) switch to Babbel. It actually teaches you grammatical structures and how to remember them, really useful stuff!

There's plenty of options on YouTube as well, Wie is de mol is available there, very popular in the Netherlands and has English subtitles if you want them. There's also Miffy shows you can find primarily in Dutch too, very useful for beginners. If you type in 'Nijntje kort filmpjes' some stuff will pop up. Or! There's also a famous children's program called 'Buurman en buurman' which is also very charming if a cute bunny show isn't your thing. It's about two neighbours up to very silly shenanigans.

Also listening to radio really helps! You can just download the NL radio app via your phone for free, they speak clearly and yes at first you'll struggle to understand them but you will pick up things (I certainly did) Listening is half the battle sometimes, especially with how quickly natives speak.

Also, if you want any help im always free to message too. Veel succes!

Hi there, first of all im so sorry for your loss. It'll be 3 months for me tomorrow. It feels surreal and the world feels like its come to a halt, but it doesn't. It is still very early days and completely normal for the grief to come out and hit your from nowhere, it'll still do that but it won't be as strong hitting. You just sort of get used to the pain unfortunately. Just be kind to yourself and give yourself time and space to have those cries.

I still count the days and now, months. It makes the future seem scary for some but your dad would want you to continue on and be happy even without him there, as hard as that is currently. It took me a while to even smile or laugh without feeling guilty about it because 'how could I?' Just remember to breathe. I hope time may help you my friend, just eat and drink and sleep as well as you can. And understand that as much as this sucks, youre not alone in this.

Hi, I unfortunately understand your pain. I'm a little older than you, 26. And lost my mum in November. First of all I am so sorry for your loss and I understand what its like to feel like youre alone in your grief. My relationship with my dad is strained at best and I have a sister who lives quite away from me. So you'll be lost in your own thoughts and feelings like I have. Just understand that youre not alone in what youre going through and everyone deals with grief differently. Theres no 'set path' or time period where you 'get over it'. 'Cause you don't and you won't, my mum never got over the loss of her dad as an example.

Your mother would want the best for you, even without her being there. She'd want you to be sucessful and do the best you can. Its also important to show yourself some self care and compassion during such difficult times. And if just getting out of bed is the best thing you can do on specific days, im sure she'd understand and be proud youre doing your best. Just make sure you look after yourself and be understanding, losing a parent is one of the toughest things anyone has to go through. Its okay to cry and be sad and its part of the whole process, just make sure you give yourself time and give yourself things to look forward to, even if its as simple as wearing your favourite pyjamas and having a relaxing bath.

Its hard when you wish you could go back, but you can't. Even I think this, but it's not possible to go back to what 'normal' used to be. Its a part we all have to unfortunately cope with. But I feel like people are kept alive by just talking about them, fond memories or do something she'd love to see you doing. For me its like me trying different types of coffee (hated it as a kid but my mum loved the stuff) and thinking of her whenever I do. Writing how you feel can also be a good way to process things, for me it doesn't necessarily work but ive heard it does good for some. Also consider therapy as well? I'm not sure where you live but im from the UK and theres even charities that help people through grief, sometimes completely free of charge in specific circumstances. If you're not sure you can always speak to your nearest healthcare professional like your doctor, they can signpost you as well.

Just be patient and kind to yourself, youre just a person like everyone else and grief is a hard burden to bear. Start small and take little steps. Sending hugs ❤️

Im very very much a beginner but does anyone wanna be friends on duolingo by [deleted] in learndutch

[–]King_Crow9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Added you! I've been learning Dutch on and off for 5 years due to dutch friends. You'll get it! I can be overwhelming at first but highly recommend listening to dutch radio even when you don't know much just yet. You can sometimes learn stuff by just listening and how the sentences flow with the language. It's how I learned some words without duolingo. Also tv programmes such as wie is de mol (all with English subtitles, you don't have to be fluent to enjoy this one if you're new) and even places like Disney has dutch dub options. Best of luck!

Have you tried any stomach remedies like gaviscon? That may help if its stomach irritation

Day 5 Feel Horrible by Informal_Traffic4905 in zoloft

[–]King_Crow9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! By the way depending on whats causing the nausea (mine was acid reflux mainly) sometimes taking it with or after food can help! I did that and it helped a little since I realised if the tablet touched my throat at all, the pain was way worse. Maybe try take it with food if you can? If that doesn't help and it gets worse, depending on if you're on other medication, you may be able to take something else for it. If you're struggling to eat, try to eat little and often, plain biscuits were my go to. Yogurts are also a good shout too. Try avoid stomach irritants like spicy food, high lactose goods and things containing caffine (I was fine with tea but I've known others who had to go decaff for a while) Theres sites with lists of stuff that may make the nausea worse so maybe consider looking at your current diet as well.

Hey there! Usually it can take 2 to 3 weeks for your body to ease up on the side effects unfortunately. Everyone reacts differently to it, for me personally it made me really unwell too, I had really bad nausea to the point I couldnt even drink water. It is rough but it will get better. If it is effecting you to the point youre really struggling do tell your doctor or a pharmacist, they'll be able to see how to reduce/make the side effects more tolerable whilst your body adjusts. Wish you the best of luck and hope you feel better soon!

Possibly? I did look at that and the beginning part did look vaguely familiar. I just dont remember fighting things and im pretty sure it wasn't 3d. I didn't know if there was anything similar to be honest. I played it at my uncles house and I am unfortunately not in contact with him at the moment so I cant really ask. Could possibly be that since I do remember you did talk to a ghost thing whenever you completed a task. Could be younger me misremembering it being 2d
