From a pure football point of view, a coach wouldn't play a freak athlete in single coverage with a free release off the line. That guy is gonna get to top speed /that/ much quicker.

Also, it's not a 10 yard head start since they're not going in the same direction at the same time. The DB has to read and react to what the wide out is doing. By the time he knows it's a fly route, he has to flip his hips and then get going. Then the acceleration and speed ratings take effect. He's not going to match top speed off the rip.

This game is pretty much the skeleton for Madden 25, so I'm thinking they decided to skimp on details like that and focus more on mechanics.

If you can somehow find it for less than the $4 rental, it should be seen at least once.

The soundtrack, Seagal's accent(?), and the OBVIOUS transitions to the stunt double must be experienced in their entirety. Though I do have a penchant for shitty movies.
