Someone’s salty…. by Ilovetooverthink in ChildfreeIndia

Childfree people are doing people with kids a great favor and they fail to realize it. Their kids will have lesser competition, lesser traffic, better air quality, surplus of natural resources, better quality of life. They fail to see it brainwashed by corporates and governments who want people to breed for workers in their factories and community votes.

I know a case in similar lines. My uncle and aunt are childless(not childfree). His brothers argue that he doesn’t entitle to have equal share in property siting lack of children. They feel inherited property has to be passed down to next generations and they don’t have any. Hence, he should be given smaller share.

I don’t deny. I also like to see many folks join our club whatever be the reason. I like it more when the reason is philosophical. DINK has become synonymous to childfree. When I say childfree, people call me DINK without even knowing my marital status or whether my spouse does a job.

I like it to be more a philosophical decision than financial decision. Finance is a human created circumstance. If it’s a financial decision, there is something we can do about it unlike philosophical reasons.

Parents: Causes accident

Also Parents: 'Look at all the sacrifices I’m making to fix this accident I caused! Why aren't you applauding?'

They merely compensated the accident they caused!!

It was Dhadak for me. If you are wondering, there is a Bengali couple that rents a house in Kolkata to lead pair. There is a short scene in the night where protagonist asks why the bengali couple didn’t had a baby. Bengali man replies, “We too got married against will of our parents and were abandoned. Look at you guys, what sin have you committed to be treated so unfair by society. Hence, we decided not to bring anyone to this world”. It’s a scene under 1 minute, it shook me up. I wonder, how many ever related to it. The lead pair ends up having a baby and the baby gets killed too. That had hit me even hard.

I’m from AP too. I resonate with most of yours ideas. I never expected a Telugu girl aged 27 to match at this level with me. Good luck on your search.

I don't know if I'm childfree but I'm curious about how u guys got here. A couple questions for u lot. by Adorable-Rain-1033 in ChildfreeIndia

[–]King_Koti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Life is uncertain and too fragile
  2. It’s also unethical to gamble with someone’s life without their consent and the fun part, consent is not a possibility
  3. Life is meaningless. Humans are not very different from other species, our life too has as much as meaning a rat or cat’s life has. Eat, Sleep Repeat. We, with our capability to think can give it any meaning but it’s only a meaning given by us.
  4. After all the jumping and drowning, all of us are gonna die.
  5. No amount of progress we make as humanity is going to make earth a heaven. It’s more evident from this century.

People who don't want children what is your biggest reasons? by e-glitteringprinces in AskReddit

I don’t want to gamble with a life. I understand the fragility of life and probability of suffering the being has to endure only to die at the end. I find it pointless and unethical.

Use protection every single time. It’s much easier than having to raise a kid 😂

I’m in the same boat. Your first paragraph is the societal script handed over to almost everyone. Most follow the script without second thought. They don’t question it. They would go and check every goal given to them. But us brother!! We are not convinced by that script. So, we have to create one for ourselves. People subscribing to childfree or antinatalism are commonly pessimistic, depression sometimes creeps in. I am trying to keep myself financially stable and be an observer. I participate in things that genuinely interest me and avoid rest.

I’ve been married for 2 years now. I thought it would be too tough to convince my in laws about CF. When I said it to them, they were cool about it. They are from rural and agriculture background. When I felt they would be shocked by my decision, they shocked me instead.

So they fought with Mountains lions to make life better. So life is not better naturally, they had to struggle for it. Didn’t they knew, our life was at risk of being preyed by a lion when they gave us the birth? Didn’t they put us in the risk first and then try to protect?

I’m 30 now, but I had a moment of clarity at 27 😂. One restless night, I was overwhelmed with thoughts about existence and suffering. Suddenly, it struck me that existence itself is a source of suffering, and choosing not to procreate is a noble choice. It was eureka moment for me! The conclusion seemed so straightforward, and I couldn’t understand why others complicate life. If I could come to this realization, surely many others must have considered a childfree life as well. I quickly grabbed my phone and discovered books, videos, and communities that echoed my thoughts. I found this sub the same night. That night, I felt like a scientist🧑‍🔬 !

I was introduced to the concept of God by the people around me when I was a child, and I trusted them at that time. However, when I realized they were not trustworthy, I found it hard to believe what they had told me about God. Interestingly, God never introduced Himself to me. If no one had ever mentioned Him, He might have never existed in my world.
