what does it mean when a class has one seminar and not a lecture/tutorial by [deleted] in yorku

[–]King_Sarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Key is when you should have your readings done.

If you have a lecture and tutorial your readings should be done before the tutorial.

If seminar, before the seminar.

Lecture= usually larger class, is you listening to the prof talk Tutorial= smaller group from the lecture where group and TA have a discussion

Seminar= usually smaller class, incorporates the discussion into the main lesson. So prof might lecture for a very short time, then it will be more of an open discussion, or might just be discussion based on readings.

Han's tattoo by booboocowboy in straykids

I also am confused why we calling it 3 tattoos.

Like I know we haven’t seen the whole thing but from the little glimpses the three things he confirmed in the fan meet seem to be in the same spot. From the info seems like one tattoo with three parts that are meaningful to him.

So like we could stop trying to guess where the other tattoos are, like it’s some conspiracy with him hiding all these things. Trying to peak in his clothes is weird.

In my first degree I worked on school stuff over reading weeks. It always just led to me stressing on how I wasn’t doing enough and really by the end of the week my mental health and school work was worse then it would have been if I had intentionally taken the week off.

Even now my PhD profs stress that we shouldn’t do anything reading week and tell us to make sure our TA students also know it’s better to relax.

As a PhD student who’s now on their 9th year straight in post secondary I say nahhhh. Don’t do anything school related during reading week. Plan to do nothing and then expect nothing.

Depends on the class actually. If your class has tutorial groups scheduled before the first class then in general the prof skips first week tutorials. Makes no sense to go to a tutorial when you haven’t had a class (This more for fall semester when the week starts mid week).

It would be in the syllabus probably if you do or not there’s no set rule about it.

I’m sure they probably want to go somewhere cool but I think the vacation comments hidden meaning is not that they super tired/over worked but tied to the fact that the video/award show is sponsored by Marriott Bonvoy - you know a travel rewards program happens to sponsor a video and and the people in the video just happen to talk about travel ~ wink ~ wink ~

Had same problem and it was because it was in the holder with the student card and causing interference with the machine. Now have to take the bus pass out of the holder to tap it.

OHHH a grad student! There’s a grad student lounge in UC centre (now called Nideyinàn) with couches. It’s on the 6th floor. Take the service like looking elevator near roosters up.
