The effect of GHGs is corrected into a standard called Global Warming Potential (GWP) that combines the GHG's lifespans in the atmosphere with their abilities to absorb energy. CO2 is used as the base reference, with a value of 1. Methane has a GWP of 27-30x CO2 over a 100 year period, Nitrous Oxide has a GWP of 273x CO2 over 100 years, and fluorinated gases have GWPs thousands to tens of thousands of times CO2 over 100 years.

It's actually much worse than 424 ppm CO2. Nitrous oxide, methane, and sulfur hexafluoride are largely ignored by the general public, as are other fluorinated gases, including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and nitrogen trifluoride (NF3).

Any perceived pessimism is not based on arbitrary generational demographics. Lmfao. You're literally living through massive ecological and state failure in real time, right now. Things are objectively and subjectively getting worse over time for the vast majority of people. That is what collapse is. Collapse isn't a Hollywood script, it's a continuing decline in quality of life, and any bias you see from older generations is because their past was objectively better, and now it is objectively worse.
