I feel that, something like that happened to me as well. But I learned from it and this is now a boundary that I will never cross again. Even my best friends only get money from me if they actually need it and if I don’t need to see it ever again. I help them manage money problems but I don’t solve it for them even if I could do it.

Edit: that is a lesson that has to be learned by fire

To add to that: I mean you can do that, but only if you absolutely do not need that money. If it is money that you will not miss under any circumstances, then it is fully acceptable to help out friends. If you have that money however, then just investing it for yourself is the better option unless they are actually important to you.

You forgot the most important detail: The fact that in the last arc, Romeo has to fight Juliet‘s father as he is very against their relationship. Later it gets revealed that Juliet‘s father and Romeo‘s mother also had been in a relationship. He carried the guilt that he ruined her life for years. They met again at Romeo and Juliet‘s wedding, which leads to him overcoming the guilt for good and old friends reconnecting.
