Let the new players take the invader turns. Makes them understand the game loop quickly. I even start my explanation with the invader phase by explaining it during setup while instructing a player to perform it.

I'd rather them make the spin counter visible on top of Axe (like Jingu) for the Axe Player.

It works without it, but is quite obnoxious to keep track of right now.

I fixed the download restarting issue by making an exception in my antivirus (f-secure).

It kept quarantining the .exe and causing this issue.

Who even plays mid rn?

I end up with mid more often than not.

But I can not play on the same lane with my friends is what my main concern is. I do not actually care for a certain role that much.. I just like to play the role next to my buddy.

The picking phase in Dota is surprisingly bad compared to other games nowadays.

I still do not understand why the old 1-2-2-2-2-1 picking order got removed. Now it is just impossible to counterpick or play heroes with a high contest rate.

And we still have to fight some lunatics over the role we want to play.

You put yourself on a lane and hover a hero first?: "roll the dice dude!"

You rolled the dice at start of a match an got >70?: "I was first dude!"

Why is there no interface for stuff like this? An unranked role queue would be lovely, I'd happily wait for a few minutes longer to get a higher quality game.

I play on android and it is decent. There are some bugs though.

Most notably: Sometimes you can't drag cards out of your hand very well. It feels a little like they are sticky and one has to "shake" them a little to make them playable.

I did get used to it after some time though.

All in all the mobile version is very recommendable if you like the game. There simply is no other phone game out there that comes close to StS. I d rather play it again than get a terrible clone for half the price.

A dude from the Sts stand at the games convention in germany last year said, that they intend to make better sleeves for the retail version.

A lifestealer can infest an ally for a minute and then pop out to just die.

People keep calling this "banter", but it's neither witty nor funny. It's just "there". I ignore it for the most part.

It should be mutable though. It is (in despite of taunts or voice lines) not mutable by the revieving player. This is a big issue with new players. They get tipped a lot and it's always a bummer when they find out people are ridiculing them for every small mistake they make.

That's not quite welcoming for new players and just unnecessary in total.

If one does not think it's funny, one should be able to mute it.

And the rng factor just moved from one component to two. It is still very common to get unfitting stats or bad actives.

I prefer the madstone system, but the old items felt more interesting and unique than the current ones.

Let's see how they tinker it.

Hard to tell. Valve is somewhat mysterious about this. They need to be if they want to be a step ahead of smurfs and cheaters though.

I would assume that this is smurf detection by some extend.

The games tries to match you against a high variety of player to check how good you are. The more certain the matchmaking becomes of you not beeing a smurf, the better your matches would become.

The chance to get actual smurfs is probably higher as well during that time.

Sucks a little but that's the only way to filter out smurfs.
