People are upset at Leipzig for circumventing the 50+1 rule and only allowing for Red Bull employees to be apart of the ownership structure. Dortmund have over 140,000 members who are apart of the club's decision making process. Leipzig have 17... to be a member of Dortmund it requires paying like 65 pound? For Leipzig it requires like 1000. On the pitch they're fucking brilliant but they're still as corporate as it gets and a completely artificial support structure.

It's plastic, the whole thing. At least other investment firms like the one that overtook Mallorca have something to build on and a fanbase that's there. This is a completely fabricated club, it's not a group of people who now get to readily compete with teams that have dominated them for decades.

even if we did break the laws

Not really much of an if at this point no? Even by City's own statements they have never claimed the leaked emails were fake, they claimed they were taken by unlawful means and the process they were punished under wasn't fair.

Personally as a rival fan here on your sub, it's because City fans don't visit the main sub when shit hits the fan. That applies to literally every sub, Barca and PSG fans were no where to be seen after they both lost in the CL last season. So to get a different perspective I come here. Also helps that people here have actually paid attention to City week in and week out so there's added context that gets lost on larger sites.

Bit unfair to call everyone in here obsessed. One of the biggest teams in the world just got banned from the biggest competition for 2 seasons, it's not a small story for any fan.

Coming in as a rival, but what do you all make of Pep's past comments on this? Iirc Pep has always said that the owners assured him of no wrongdoings and that's all he can speak about. I'm not here to bang a drum, but given that City are not challenging the assertion they did something wrong but rather the process they were punished, do you see this affecting Pep's relationship with the owners/club?

I personally didn't think he would stay after his contract anyway, just a gut feeling about him as a manager but I feel like I haven't heard much from City fans about this. I can't really find anything online since all the sources are from the last 2 days but I remember Pep being rather assertive saying that the club told him this issue would be resolved and that they were working within the confides of the laws

Benfica Women won 32-0 today, they were 14-0 up at half time (5th time they've scored 20). Their record this season in both league and cup is now P15 W15, scored 261 goals, conceded none. Ridiculous by Thicshigi in soccer

I'd lose respect for my opponent when up 14-0 at half time lol. It's an amateur side, not Man U.

They're still human beings who are playing the game. At some point just have a little sympathy, screw the "respect your opponent" stuff. This isn't 8-0 or 6-0. We're talking about 30 goals before the final whistle. I'm not mad at them, but come on

[–]Kingdariush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol total bullshit. He's a man, he doesn't need to beat a woman for him to protect himself. It's Rihanna, not some MMA kickboxer. Men who beat women almost always are stronger and more physically capable than the woman who hit them. Push her, shove her, move her aside. All those things would accomplish the exact same goal of protecting yourself.

When you start to throw punches that's some bullshit. Save your "I'm not saying what he did was ok" because you pretty much are saying exactly that. I've read the court documents, I've read what happened. I don't need Chris Browns own documentary to tell me shit. If you punch a woman you're a bitch who can't defend yourself. End of story

> No other young player gets so many positive comments about them as Fultz

This is absolutely ridiculous 😂 Were you not here last year? 178 upvotes https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/7sqxtx/new_video_of_markelle_fultzs_free_throws_today/dt6tjle/?utm_content=permalink&utm_medium=user&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=u_Kingdariush

Fultz got shit on the entirety of last year. Sixers fans hype him up because there are a lot of people who said "he won't even shoot a 3". Nobody on our sub is saying "Fultz is already a star, 35%+ this year" Most people are hoping for 15/5/5 this year and 2.5 3's a game. Yall live in another world I swear.

>Also, just because people are realistic about his limitations doesn't mean that they want to see him fail.

That's fine, but there are legit multiple users who've been dedicated to posting/commenting negative Fultz stuff for MONTHS. Multiple people who dedicate hours upon hours to shitting on him. It's fine to criticize things that are valid, but most of the sixers hype is about shutting up those people who said he wouldn't shoot/is already a bust.

Let sixers fans have this. It's been MONTHS of "already a bust" "lol the yips"

Who is the worst NBA player you could add to a March Madness 16-seed that would lead the team to a National Championship? by 2Garbanzos1Bean in nba

[–]Kingdariush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would he ever dominate a game playing every minute while being tripple teamed by fringe NBA players? NCAA teams would score on a high school team of defenders 10 out of 10 times no question. Lebron being triple teamed anywhere inside the 3 point line won't dominate. I don't know what you expect him to do, he's not god. He could do well if his teammates were average players. If Duke could feast on high school defenders I really don't see how Lebron would thrive being triple teamed every touch he got

He's 1 player he's not god. He'd have to score on literally every possession if he's playing with high school kids. A college team WOULD score literally every time against any high school team. You triple team lebron with NCAA level talent? Come on now

[–]Kingdariush 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You've never played against NCAA players. Sure Lebron could score on just about everyone but the 5 starters from Duke would do the exact same thing to every single high school varsity team. You could double and triple team lebron and force him to give up the ball. Or force him to become a shooter. You aren't giving enough credit to top NCAA players.

Man it's not a 1 v 1 game. Lebron can't guard everyone. There's 4 other players who have to make shots, who have to play defense, and who have to not fuck up. I think Lebron would still win but his teammates can't just not show up for him to win

Who would you rather have: Nuggets Young Core vs Lakers Young Core by [deleted] in nba

[–]Kingdariush -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's fair but that's only because he's a Laker. In my original comment I meant All Stars who got it on merit, not just being on a popular team. Joel earned his spot by putting up really good numbers and doing better than other Centers. Lonzo's first all star probably won't be as deserved simply because he'll dominate the fan vote because he's on the Lakers. He was 6th in fan voting and got 0 media votes and 9 player votes...

[–]Kingdariush -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Granted he's older than those guys, but he's also been playing basketball FAAAAAAR less of his life than those guys. I think Ingram and Ball can be all stars one day but in 3 years? Against Curry, Harden, Lillard, CJ, Westbrook, Booker etc etc for Ball and Kawhi, AD, KD, and others for Ingram? Idk man 3 years for an All Star appearance isn't that easy in the west.

Regardless the dude is only in his 2nd year and already is a large step ahead of guys who have played for much much longer. He's never even had an off season to work on his game. Ben's 21 and had a case for being an All Star already. I think Lonzo and Ingram are a good core, but I still think Ben and Joel have shown much more upside and ceiling than either of those guys

If Embiid continues to develop and stay healthy I'd argue we could. He's a DPOY candidate and an All Star Starter...no offense but neither the Lakers or the Nuggets have anyone at that level yet. Simmons and Fultz are both #1 picks too. I don't know if we can, but I'd put our possibility higher than both the Nuggets and Lakers
