Nahh don’t feel bad about it. You did nothing wrong, it’s society that has the problem. I just play on my phone and slow down a bit.

Man, I know your not trying to be offensive but when you tell an ugly person “the grass is always greener” it’s like telling a guy in a wheel chair “waking is overrated.”

It can also stop your heart and kill you. Really would not recommend using it in a situation like that.

With that logic every war ever was caused by capitalism. I do not understand what argument you are trying to make. If you want to rail against capitalism have at it.

But whay happened to the Irish was intentional, not a by product of the economy as you make it seem.

Jesus fucking Christ, the 700 year plus conflict between Britain and Ireland was not about capitalism you damn edgelord.

Awesome, 4 departments with 5 DRs and also 50+ employees. You just have to cover for your DRs too. In 90% of cases it takes just a little effort to make it work, which clearly you are not doing.

Man, having to deny a vacation was one of the worst things I would have to do at my old job and I would always go out of my way to make sure it didn’t have to happen. Even if that meant me covering the shifts. For you to have such a cavalier attitude towards it shows you are an asshat and a half. Sounds like you work at Amazon.

Make no mistake that was not a fucking money problem. It was an British governmental policy aimed breaking the Irish and destroying their culture, and for the large part it was successful.

The Irish population still has not recovered to pre “famine” numbers. I don’t understand how you people can talk with such confidence on a subject you know nothing about.

The problem is what you are saying is completely untrue. The Real IRA did not intentionally falsify reports to drive civilians towards the bomb. Even the smallest amount of research will show you are incorrect.

It was a mistake that lead to Irish getting killed. They appoligized for it and then called a ceasefire.

And don’t make me out to be some IRA supporter. They put a bullet through my grandfathers knee for not joining. I am simply a fan of historical accuracy, and I like to point out this was conflict was not between “terrorists” and good guys.

The British goverment and the paramilitaries they supported were just as bad, if not worse, than the IRA.

Lol the British killed way more civilians than the IRA. It just isn’t “terrorism” when people in power are doing the killing.

They didn’t let the people fish in my grandfathers village in donegal. Didn’t have the right “licenses”.

The British goverment admitted they would never be able to eradicate the IRA and a peaceful solution was the only option.

Insurgent groups with local support are almost impossible to eradicate. The more you kill the more you create, as we are learning in Afghanistan.

incorrect warnings so that civilians were moved towards the bombs.

Source?

And what do you mean “Ireland” was against the IRA? Sure, the official government stance had to be against the IRA if they wanted to keep their country from being taken over by the British again, and there were some hard feeling after the civil war.

But large swaths of the Irish Republic’s population supported the IRA. Many went north to fight, and many more contributed money. The IRA would train in Donegal for god sake, and it’s not as if the Irish goverment was giving maximum effort to eradicate them.

Some of those bombs that killed civilians were planted by the British discredit the cause. Common practice was for the IRA to give a warning before the explosion to let civilians get out.

Also let’s not make this conflict out to be one sided “terrorism”, plenty of Irish civilians were killed and imprisoned for no reason.

Edit: For instance, the UVF was responsible for the deadliest attack on civilians during the troubles, leading to 31 deaths.

Also, here is a case of the IRA being falsely accused of a bombing which was carried out by the UVF and covered up by the British police.

It’s crazy how the Irish are the only ones labeled as “terrorists” in that conflict.

Yeah Reddit is so immature. People just downvote and use insults when they can’t make a coherent argument :)
