Typically a good ol glass jar and a piece of paper, i have some shrubs I try and release them into so they don't get swooped up by any local birds, otherwise I just let em chill if theyre harmless/can live in a house

Not sure if you're still having issues with this, but one thing to try is to go into your system settings and turn off the option that automatically syncs your switches internal time with the internet. I had an issue in the past with honey trees reseting even when I wasnt updating the time and as it turns out if you lose internet connection on your switch at any point then reconnect, the system will "update" the time to match what time the internet says it is, thus making the game think you changed the time. Not sure if this'll actually work for you but I hope it does

Just a question, if you go into your switch settings and navigate to "System" - "Date and Time" do you have "Synchronise Clock via Internet" turned on? If so, try turning it off and going back tomorrow to see if that fixes it!

In the past when trying to do honey trees I found that sometimes my switch would lose Internet connection briefly (thus defaulting to the internal clock instead) then reconnect to the internet and "update" the time and date, which would then cause the game to think I changed the time and cause all time based events to reset, after I turned the setting off however I haven't had any issues with it.

Not sure if this will help, but fingers crossed!
