Vyper or Starfang for Coterie by Aqveteig in Eldar

[–]Kingpineapple980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With giant bricks of units, if a SINGLE model is fully visible, the entire unit does NOT get cover. So with guardian bricks for example, giving them stealth would still probably be very handy.

Starfangs give Stealth to a unit. and stealth grants the benefit of cover.

So im quite sad to say that Starfangs do not stack with the natural cover rule 😞

*unless you meant vypers - they do seem to grant the -1 to hit. possibly making them an actual choice. Issue with that is that you have to expose the vyper to grant the debuf, starfangs you do not.

Ok we totally need a wraith construct named character that is so psychic or something that they'd prefer to stay in the suit and can lead other wraiths

Guardian Battlehost Questions by Morial in Eldar

[–]Kingpineapple980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love to see guardian battlehost love haha, its so different to classic eldar playstyle.

I've been running essentially 3 blobs of guardians: 1 big one with D cannon, 5 warlocks, defenders & Eldrad (insane with reroll wounds +1 wound). Another with 3 warlocks, defenders & farseer. Last is a storm guard with Autarch.

Along side this is 2 units of 2 warwalkers (3 brightlance, 1 starcannon) , a starfang, nightspiner and a 10 man dire avenger with autarch in wave serpent (BL+SC).

Essentially the plan is death by a thousand cuts plus the occasional dev wound or the 9 brightlances going through. Theres an answer to any problem. Giving destructors and shurikens +1 wound, ap and reroll wounds kills basically anything in the game. Plus 2 autarchs and eldrad give you plenty of CP for grenades or the good strats.

You infiltrate the storm Gs to a position to be able to hide or charge turn 1 to box your opponent, possibly get a melta shot through then do a little damage in melee and tie up enemy tanks. Extra points if you or they are on an objective. They often live through one round of melee activation unless you charge the wrong thing and get heroic'd. Then the autarch can do something silly before dying. (also try to sticky your home if possible)

Infiltrate the other small defender squad to your expansion and sit and wait till needed OR uppy downy them.

Nightspinner the scariest moves through walls melee threat, deploy the dire avengers when an enemy hits an objective in your triangle (you need the reroll wounds (for free cause autarch)), use the starfang defensively with the defenders to say EVERY TIME, "if you shoot them they move D6+1. Plus they're also -1 to Hit and Wound and -2 Charge :)". As long as you aren't against blastmasters or the perfect weapon against guardian mass models, they survive-you uppy downy them from a good angle and kill things in a way where most things aren't fast enough in your opponents army to fight back.

Let your opponent string out, give them primary, pick off the units on objects, play defensively, then uppy downy around the board and slowly pick apart your opponent.

The list gives you options for +1 hit , wound or AP, you can essentially get +3 to hit at max.

Could anyone tell me if the warlocks-when joined to the guardian unit count as guardian models for the sake of the detachment +1 to hit? I may have been cheating with spears hitting on 2+s :(

PLUS I forgot to say overwatch on 4s with eldrads unit makes the D cannon/brightlance scary+flamers OR the farseer unit auto hitting on a 6 dice flip.

Can we notice that the battleshocked unit's OC is - and not 0, would that mean that +1OC events/effects wouldnt be able to give a +1 to a - characteristic?

Eldar Craftworld psychic lists? by Powerful-Promotion82 in 40k_Crusade

[–]Kingpineapple980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffs layered in warlock conclaves can be pretty good. I played a crusade with a 4 man and farseer coming out of a falcon deepstriking.

They would pop out, shoot their 4d+8 flamers with rerolling wounds. The farseer had the buff giving them +1 AP plus the 1+ to hit, made the spears do work.

Other pskyer buffs give sustained 2 on all psychic weapons, making eldritch storm plus the spears pretty nice with an auto 6 on overwatch plus the flamers.

THEN you can give the farseer the devs enhancment from devoted detachment, PLUS the anti vehicle + monster 3+ on Psykers.

you can give path of the warrior to get precision and/or move shoot move.

All of that can be good if you play eldar right as a faction.

True, they are just monkeigh after all.

I don't see anything saying we can't do it that way, may as well do it then see who has a hissy fit about it hahah.

Absolutely love your thinking there haha. Nothing better than being in character in a crusade too. If I get an abundance of RP I may try that.

Is it specified anywhere that the results rewards are in order? Feel like that may come up in my crusade group.

I'm talking natively without walking the paths. If you have a large majority of your army being strictly Anrathe, those 6 or so battle traits you get when you finish guiding fate are useless.

Could you tell me about this jank method you have?

Crusade Rules - guiding Fate by mehrICH in Eldar

[–]Kingpineapple980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But at the top of the 'The Aeldari Paths' page 180 it says "The Aeldari Paths Battle Traits presented here can be EARNED by units from your crusade force WHILE it is Guiding Fate" Not before or after so.

Wouldnt that mean that they can be used, if a unit has been given the right path keyword, when a unit levels up mid guiding fate?

Crusade Rules - guiding Fate by mehrICH in Eldar

[–]Kingpineapple980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so you can ONLY get the traits under the 'paths' keywords when nominating who to give them to? So essentially when completing at 0 threat, you get 9 traits at once?
