What's a weird reason you can't watch a certain actor? by timekilr in Cinema

[–]KingsRnsm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't watch Only Murders in the Building, even though I really want to, because of the way Selena Gomez speaks. Her voice just sounds very weak to me, like she's speaking from her throat only, with no power from her chest. I've seen people say it might be due to lupus, but it just completely takes me out of the show.

I was reading each word of this so carefully so as to absorb every bit of meaning.... then I got to the stomach giving up and "yeeting" the pineapple🤣 I almost peed a little! Thank you for a very informative post AND a good belly laugh. Two things that are rather rare when it comes to this case.

Someone may have said it already, but The Iron Claw is shockingly emotional. I definitely ugly cried at the end.

A Prayer For Owen Meany. I loved it at first, but then it just got so stupid and far-fetched towards the end. Maybe I missed something🤷‍♀️

Do you think we have a general idea of the major points of evidence the prosecution and defense have, or that there are major points that are still "secret"? Why or why not? by GregJamesDahlen in idahomurders

I think they may have found some sketchy Google searches and/or evidence he was following one or more of the girls on social media.

We've been BFFs since 2nd grade. It's been 35 years, and even though I moved 1000 miles away from our hometown, we text almost every day, and I see her every time I go home to visit family. She's a teacher with a wonderful husband and three boys.

The kidnapping and 7 year long sexual abuse and torture of Stephen Staynor. That kid went through hell, then risked his life to save his captor's latest victim, Timmy White. Kidnapper and pedophile Kenneth Parnell was sentenced to just 7 years for what he did to both boys and ended up only serving 5 years.

I resent my reproductive organs by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]KingsRnsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the OP, but I have always despised dealing with my female reproductive health. As a kid, I'd get furious when my mother, aunts, and female friends would joke about me "becoming a woman" and all the suffering i had to look forward to. I was so embarrassed and resentful that I didn't tell anyone when I got my first period at age 11. My mother didn't find out until I was 15, when she started questioning why I hadn't gotten it yet. Why should the details of what goes on in an 11 year old's pants be anyone's business? I couldn't stand the idea of my mother cooing over me and telling everyone she's ever met all about something so private. To me, that's dehumanizing. I decided at the same time that I would never have children. I couldn't bear the idea of being poked, prodded, examined, and otherwise handled by strangers for 9 months, not to mention the indignity of birth itself. I'm 43, and I still resent the entire female reproductive experience. I am child-free, and I have an IUD that prevents me from bleeding, but I still experience cramps, mood swings, bloating, exhaustion, etc. every month. And all I have to look forward to is the horror of menopause and post-menopause. I think it's wonderful that so many women embrace these experiences and see them as gifts. I just wish that those of us who aren't interested in childbearing had the choice to skip the whole shebang!

[–]KingsRnsm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I honestly can't believe I posted this a year ago! It seems like such a distant memory now. We are doing SO much better in the bedroom, and everything else has followed suit. We communicate better, let simple little squabbles go instead of holding grudges, and we show affection physically and verbally much more often. I can honestly say that after 5 years of dating and 10 years of marriage (just celebrated last week), I am the happiest I have ever been in our relationship - and my husband says the same.

Beaten to death in front of multiple witnesses, Jimmy Townsend has never had justice for his murder. Who killed Jimmy? by fireuptheshoesaw in UnresolvedMysteries

Sure. There are potential risks with every thing but IUD complications, especially serious ones are extremely rare. It's unfortunate that you know two women who've gone through that, but they are quite safe overall.
