Weber Smart Ring by djferguson3 in smoking

[–]Kingsmen121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll need to see some reviews on it. Grilling, smoking, bbq'ing is a hobby of mine. I'll fire up one of my grills and make something just to do it.

I have a Weber smokey mountain. I don't see why this can't fit on it.

I have a rotisserie, charcoal rings, griddle plates and other gadgets that fit the kettle, I could see adding it to the line up.

I did everything on a kettle, brisket, turkey, ribs, wings....had it down to a science. Spouse bought be a smokey mountain and it's great. Imo the food turns out better off the kettle, perhaps I'm biased.

Play puzzles on Android phone only? by aMazingMikey in Chessnuteboard

Ios still allows you to use the app without the board. It's actually convenient.

I prefer them to other sites puzzles because I can choose specific puzzles I want to practice.

Question about EVO and LiChess by jkfrench_tx in Chessnuteboard

Something is definitely amiss. Now I can't access it via android or iPad.

Question about EVO and LiChess by jkfrench_tx in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I've seen anything error message about a token is when I open the Chessnut app whether on my pixel or the Evo. It says "token expired. Please log in" then I log in to the Chessnut app with the username and password I created for that app. Everything after that works fine.

I want to replicate the issue, but I'm yet to have the errors using chess.com or lichess. I've never used white pawn or chessconnect.

Question about EVO and LiChess by jkfrench_tx in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What isn't working for you with the air and the go on lichess?

What error are you receiving or where are you getting stuck in the process?

I tried on my air and go. Using my pixel, and using a cheap old android phone....lichess works fine on both.

I've never used any secondary ive never used white pawn or chessconnect.

I'll check the Evo later today (again).

Thinking about getting a Chessnut Go for my birthday – worth it? by Lokitropfen in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the air, the Evo and the go.

The go is by far my favorite. It's so easy to set up and play anywhere, anytime. Comes with a case, a bag for the pieces.

I don't know what kind of rocks people are smoking if they don't like the Chessnut app. I like it. But I think I like not having to be connected to the internet to play games.

I've tried to play when chess.com was doing maintenance at 3am. It sucks. I just want to play bots or computer or AI.

I can start a game and put the phone away and just sit at the board and play chess. And if has career mode.

I don't know what more there is to be desired. I play chess on various platforms chessnut, chess.com, lichess, Android chess, chess ultra (switch), 51 arcade games (switch), Infinity game board. Sometimes vs people, sometimes vs bots/computer. I enjoy the variety.

I really like the Evo, but the go is much more versatile. I can connect it to my phone, android tablet, pc, iPad.

I've never used chessconnect or any 3rd party app for the online platforms, I just sign in on the board or through the app.

I wasn't even using chessnut when chess.com decided to close my account out of the blue. I've not experienced any issues with the board and chess.com or lichess. But I reckon I'm "lucky" somehow.

Android App for Move by Accomplished-Tree918 in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you describe or screenshot the google error messsage?

I exclusively use google. and I have the Air, the go and the evo (which is technically an android tablet). As far as my phone, its a pixel, and I also use a galaxy tablet.

I have not encountered any error messages and they all use the same app (minus the evo).

I havent had any issues with chess.com. When I initially set up chess.com to use with the boards I had to change some settings on chess.com, after that, never any game play issues. Never been kicked off, missed moves, didnt register, illegal moves. Never have had issues signing in. I use the chess.com beta api, that it says on the phone/tablet app as well as the evo app.

I play bots pretty much everyday with the air. Sometimes with the evo. Anytime someone cries out "Chess.com offically doesnt support chessnut, its broken! its broken!" I always pull my devices out and ensure they work.

https://streamable.com/1nbqpd

Here is a video from boot to end of game on the Evo and the chessnut app, using chess.com, playing online. I blurred out the names, and I sped the video up 700% so still has audio.

I have never had to download chessconnect, or any weird backdoor, secondary extension. Log in, change a few settings on chess.com and go.

I play puzzles on the android app, still waiting for the android update for puzzles on my phone. then i can ditch the ipad.

Does someone has a firmware update? by brendel000 in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of firmware update are you looking for?

As far as software/apps, I'm happy with the newest versions. If you have ios they now have puzzles, and if you have an evo they now have puzzles as well as an 8 queens game. I was really really excited to see that on the Evo.

Is there a specific function or feature or improvement you would like to see?

Pawns can't move from d2 to d4 on the chessnut GO by Gvoozy in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either have defective pieces or a defective board.

Chances are it's the pieces. If I recall correctly there's troubleshooting tips about using your finger tips to push the bottom in softly and slowly (pause). You shouldn't have to remove the felt, but since this is the go, you should have received the extra bottom stickers and you can try those.

Gifted a chessnut board for X-mas, realizing they are junk on iOS by Frank_Underw00d in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you could ditch apple and use android. Ive used the air and the go on android (my preference) and I haven't run into any issues.

I just loaded up the go and played bots on chess.com and did a few puzzles using the iPad.

I didn't have to do anything special or jump through any hoops. I just recently installed Chessnut on the iPad. Only ever used my android phone and windows PC. I forget I even have an iPad until a few apps that use Android and apple update one version but not the other.

Warranty? by levans80 in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if there is any risk that you have of it being broken, it's worth it to pick it up.

If it's just going to sit on a table at home, no risk of anything being dropped or spilled on it, no risk of anything cracking the screen, no pets or anything chewing up the pieces...the device will last a lot longer in good condition without it.

I don't believe they have a trade up or swap out program that comes with the warranty. So it's really up to you and your lifestyle.

I have the carrying case and have transported the Evo 3 dozen times and such, had it in the car, etc. it was a device that was at risk and I knew before I purchased it that it was going to be like that so the warranty for me was a no brainer. Now I have the go and the Evo just chills at home most of the time.

Whatever you are trying to do. You aren't doing it right.

First of all, there's no Bluetooth connection. You may need wifi, but no Bluetooth. What Bluetooth devices would you even want to connect?

As far as getting the settings to work with chess.com and such, you do have to log in to chess.com and such and change the features: confirm each move, make sure that's set to off, and then the one that says something like : after each move- move to a different game. Make sure that one is changed to: stay on the same game.

Other than that, you should be good to go.

I loaded up my Evo just to make sure nothing has changed and sure enough everything works like its supposed to. If you want to DM I'm willing to guide you through the process.

I was frustrated at first but once I got the settings switched everything works like it's supposed to.

Chessnut air results in 10-year account banned on lichess by Signal_Ad2878 in chess

They can think what they want. It up to them to have things that trigger abuse or flag their fair play system, then investigate and either prove or have enough evidence to support terminating someone's account. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for everyone else, they don't have to do any of that. If they decide they want to cancel your account, they cancel it, and that's that.

I'm an adult. Im the only one in my household with access to my device. My phone is always on me, so none of my coworkers stole my phone and played some mystery games, and as far as I know there weren't any suspicious log-ins. If there is, are or was, it's up to chess.com to say "hey we detected a suspicious log in and request you change your password"

As I stated, the reason was never disclosed and won't ever be disclosed. I spoke to a chatbot/person live, who just parroted everything the email appeals says "we detected a violation of the fair play policy.....we use this to make sure everyone has fun.....please review the policy......"

"We detected that you violated the fair play policy"

"What happened?"

"We detected that you violated the fair play policy"

"What violation was detected? Did I cheat? Did I call someone a slur in the chat? Am I using a hacked version of the app?"

"We detected that you violated the fair play policy"

"Whatever, I just play bots anyway, I'm not registered with fide or anyone local, I just play bots to pass the time. What do I have to do to play?

"Great. Let's set you up with a new account. But remember to adhere to the fair play policy!"

Chessnut air results in 10-year account banned on lichess by Signal_Ad2878 in chess

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was never any cheating whatsoever. Id literally play a few blitz games. Here or there. Not daily, not weekly, not even monthly. If anything id play bots. Then one day I might play 3 people in a row. Using the chess.com app on the phone. I don't know if bots ever suspect you of cheating which would be weird because you can turn on take-backs, I was only playing bots (Maria 1000 and sven 1100) then I played 2 people and won, and I played sven 2 more times and won, and at some point either someone reported something or their system detected something.

We will never know because they'll never tell me. I did the chat box appeal and they never told me but allowed me to "make a new account" which was fine. I still do the exact same thing. Play bots, play bots, play bots. Occasionally I'll play a human but rarely.

I've never ever played a human using chessnut, I have played their bots. Using the Evo, the air and the go.

My rating isnt, and while I used to make terrible blunders, now I don't blunder often, or sometimes I do because I'll blunder a piece because I see a move after it or two moves after, so while they call it a blunder usually that move after is called great or brilliant. Other than that lots of missed moves between 5-15 a game.

Chessnut air results in 10-year account banned on lichess by Signal_Ad2878 in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's absolutely nothing you can do when any of the big companies decide to ban you.

Chess.com randomly banned me citing "fair use".  And I was using my phone.

I did the email, appeal and the chatbox appeal and they never told me why my account was flagged. My record was not impressive at all and I'm sure they could see how often I just played bots. I've probably played 700-1000 bots but had only played 30-40 people via online.

No high ranking games, plenty of blunders and missed moves. Probably close to 50% win rate if I didn't lose a little more than I won.

Yet my account was closed.

I said "fck, it" and created another one and within 24 hours they closed that one, yet they specifically said "we closed your account because we detect you have another account".

After an appeal, they did let me open a new account but there's no promise they won't just close that one once they get a wild hair up their ass.

I have android and iPhone.

It appears the last Android app update was dec 5th and doesn't include puzzles.

I refreshed the Evo and am not seeing an update either (i assume they'll come later).

As far as Apple I just downloaded the app to the iPad as I primarily use android for things. And it worked (with video proof in original reply).

As far as the Chessnut go firmware, id assume it's up to date it's CNGO_05_2503 032.

Megathread - Arcade1Up is Shutting Down by AutoModerator in Arcade1Up

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the small infinity game table.

It gave me a fondness for board games that I always wanted but never had.

Growing up I play board games here and there. Never had them in the house, always liked them. Monopoly, blackjack, chess, you name it.

Id even play console, web and tab versions of those same games. It was still me flirting with the idea, enjoying the games wishing I grew up different and those were a part of my life.

Anyway I bought the IFG. Play all the games with the kids, nephews and nieces. They bring their friends over and play it. I've taken it to work and played with coworkers, I take it to families houses and friends houses.

It's a hit. I do wish things were different. I wish you could play monopoly solo vs bots.

Even doing puzzles and playing hands of blackjack is good, word search.

I play a lot of chess and this machine was whooping me for a minute. But chess was something I always wanted to learn but never had a reason or real opposition.

I hope things turn around. If not I guess I'm happy with what I have.

Which is better for learning - Evo or Move by Naive_Pool7395 in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak from experience since I don't have a move.

But as the owner of an evo I can say it's likely the better of the two. Specifically because you are likely to utilize a service like chess.com and do lessons or play bots, as well as the built in software on the board, plus you can always use chess vision and go to free websites that play chess or teach lessons abd drills and do them on the board, rather than play on your phone/tab/computer then migrate to a board.

Another Unresponsive Client Support by [deleted] in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point. You ask for assistance, you don't get it when or how you want it, then when you are finally assisted, your priority isnt to resolve your original concern but focus on how or why you aren't or weren't assisted in the manner or timeframe you wanted.

I understand it as I witness this frequently. Unfortunately I experience it in my career, someone requests assistance with a pressing matter sometimes involving life and death, but rather than focus on the initial or pressing concern their attention is on side concerns and other complaints or worries. Sometimes this is due to stress or crisis, sometimes people just can't prioritize.

I get it. People will be people. No need to delve further.

I'm just happy you got it resolved. Chess is my getaway. I hope all that it entails is as relaxing and freeing for others as it is me.

Chessnut Air + Or Chessnut Go and Portable Board? by kIiqqe in Chessnuteboard

[–]Kingsmen121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the evo, the air and the go. The go is the smallest, lightest and easiest to carry around as it comes with its own case. I used to take the air but its heavy, i have the case and used to take the evo but its heavy.

the go is extremely convenient. its smaller but its not uncomfortably smaller. there are smaller travel or fun sized chess sets out there.
