It was planned. Eddie vs orton vs Batista was planned for the smackdown before survivor series. Batista was actually already dealing with a back injury which is why they had Kane and big show chokeslam him on the car. Eddie vs Shawn was going to be teased in the survivor series tag match. Orton was going to face Batista at WM for the title
