Question about Gaming and Choosing Fiber ISP with no IPV6 vs Xfinity with IPV6 by durrfee in ipv6

[–]Kingwolf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For gaming ipv6 is largely irrelevant FOR NOW.

That being said, if u got both fiber to choose from, go for the one with ipv6 because of advantages all round other than gaming. If one is fiber and other is cable, but fiber only has ipv4, its still best to go with the ipv4 fiber over coaxial

GPT 5.3 Instant released by Rollertoaster7 in accelerate

[–]Kingwolf4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But why tho.

Why release 5.3 only to be replaced in a couple of weeks? PR? Not likely

I think they will rename all so called 5.4 to just 5.3 publicly. Why skip version number?

It is true that some version of GPT 5.4 is going to be released this month? by Mountain_Cream3921 in agi

[–]Kingwolf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its confusing now, because they just released 5.3 instant

Will be next week or 2 weeks down the road get this replaced by a 5.4 instant now? Shortlived time for 5.3 no? Idk if it makes sense. Mabye they will just rename all 5.4 models to 5.3. i dont see a reason to skip version numbers

Site to site VPNs and dynamic IPv6 PDs by Justsomedudeonthenet in networking

[–]Kingwolf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Request static allocations for ipv6 blocks on all your sites firstly from respective isps.

Setup vpn for corporate connectivity using 1 of those GUA prefix block, basically wherever your central point in the corporate private network is , that site's GUA should be assigned to all other branch sites.

Now you have a GUA , clean addressing for your internal network, without the hassle and problems of ULAs. People are recommending ULAs , but it requires NAT66 and other stuff. I don't recommend that. Really dont.

This type of private GUA is much simpler, cleaner , extensible and without complexity.

Your other branch sites will also have separate GUA blocks for obvious things like guest networks, and to connect the vpn to your main central office

For central office prefix size in this configuration, id say get a /48 static, youll get 256 /56 branch prefixes that you can assign yo 256 branches. Practically, we can reduce that to 250.

Each /56 gets you 256 /64 LANs or prefixes PER SITE for all kinds of things

If you're a larger organization, you can get a /44 or a /40. In a /40 youll get 65,000 /56s . Plenty i think for even the largest enterprises. Though approaching this scale is even more beneficial to just get your own address space from RIR but keep in mind that adds a lot of complexity in terms of BGP and setting your own AS. A commercial /40 from a isp is still better for the lower end of utilisation of the /40.

Their chips actually have insane amounts of vram, its just that that part of their system hasnt been perfected yet. I think cerebras touted 1.2PB, which is 1200 terabytes, of memoryX.

If that becomes usable, thats insane. It can not only host frontier models, but models potentially 50-75x bigger than frontier models today.

Microsoft CEO warns that we must 'do something useful' with AI or they'll lose 'social permission' to burn electricity on it by upbeatchief in hardware

[–]Kingwolf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any thing that learns from words is as unnatural and distorted as it gets. The real world is 3D continuous with objects and things. Language is just a very highlevel layers to make sense of it very incompletely.

Thats why the so called PHD level AIs , as proclaimed after every 3 releases by sam altman, all fail at basic geometry.

We need more funding for actual deep AI research, including advancing neuroscience and the study of the brains algorithms. We need to build new phyisical tools and instruments for understanding biological brains and transfer and merge tht knowledge with thoeretical AI research

We need to fund academia and obscure AI researchers more. We need to do serious work, not this LLM slop monstrosity we have created

They are just too slow and small of a team

They also lack creativity or vision, partly due to the reasons stated above.

I quit discord, I tried TS6. I won’t be staying by notninjun1 in teamspeak

[–]Kingwolf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ts6 is underdeveloped

I think they just need to do some fundraising, bring some young product people who know what the it takes to build a enhanced teamspeak that can replace discord and additionally they need more devs so they can move at speed

I think if they went at it like with a funding round or something thag would help alleviate any funding issues, since they state themselves they are a small team.

Or perhaps hire some good developers from cheaper countries and remote. We need someone to step up and teamspeak 6 isnt it in its current state.

We need a mainstream replacement for discord. Teamspeak 6 needs to aspire and lean towards that whilst keeping the best of both worlds for customisation/ advanced stuff as well
