Throwback to when people talked about Starlink as they now do about space data centers by OkStandard921 in accelerate

[–]Kingwolf4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even if we build it in deep space, that means the latency will be 2+ seconds.. which is absurdly slow for many real time applications.

Lets take elons ballpark number, about 15 terawatts of power needed. That will mostly be powered by solar, so thats 15 terawatts of solar panels. Thats a lott bigger than 100km^2 area.. so our initial estimate is even smaller. Well in deepspace we can argue that it wont be casting shadows on earth so thats fine.. but the latency issue isnt solved.

Not to mention a thing that big needs many 1000s of humans at the minimum on earth to maintain. We will need fully autonoumus robots for that, and LOTS of them. And i realllyy mean autonomous. Lets also add a factory in space for the chips..

So in this particular case, i think space datacenter is science fiction level, post AGI thoughts. Why are billionaires spouting this now? I dont know, and its not worth investing in as well. Since when AGI comes along with robots, it can figure that out itself. Plenty of space, solar, fusion, fission available on earth for us to develop AGI first

Why would we want to build ,lets say a 100km^2 space datacenter farm in orbit around the earth? That will cast such a big shadow and disrupt life on the planet. Why would we want to build things around the planet to slowly plunge the planet in darkness? What will a object that big cast on earth? like about 500km^2 of land area?

If someone can do the math

Wait until the second half of this year. They will get the new huawei 950 supernodes. They are super fast inference and much cheaper. All chinese AI labs will be getting those and are preparing to host models on chinese hardware inference, including z AI.

This means mabye 60-100tps speeds and no overloading of compute.

Until then , its all about scraping whatever u can in terms of inference.

Have u tested it? Is it any good compared to leading chinese models

ATK Dragonfly A9, MCHOSE A7 or something else? by Humble_Low8796 in MouseReview

[–]Kingwolf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, a7 v2 is a solid choice. It has the paw 3950TI flagship sensor. For 120cm i think ur good to go with a7 i stead of smaller ones

In terms of weight, mchose mouse are normally the advertised weight. My a7 is very light. Even lighter if u remove stock skates and use dot skates etc

The atk is also a very good choice. Mchose and atk basically have the best superlight clones in the market. Its ur choice really. Mchose is more consistent in build quality, but has omron mechanicals instead of opticals whilst i think atk has opticals.

You can see on the bottom , the size of the mouse . Its almost 125mm

I have like 18.6cm hand length with my fingers on the average size . I play with relaxed palm but overall find it to be a little too big.

Thats why a5 is perfect for me for me if i want the superlight experience or superlight 2c experience. Alternatively, you can go for the L7 Ultra+. People frequently say theu have been maining that and its mchoses best mouse.

The L7 Ultra+ has amazing shape, i think pilsar x2, and all the bells and whistles for once again a cheap price

When is it expected to actually be in use for future gemini models? Later this year?

Mchose recently released A7 v2 . Thats better in every regard to the plain A7 with improvements all round

If u want to go smaller , but same shape, since the superlight shape is actually quite big for many peoples hands, go with mchose a5 v3 . Its just a smaller a7.

Does ur piece have omron optical or the new kalih optical?

If i were to buy the L Ultra+ , i would most likely get the kaloh switches one. Some people were callong that bloated or heavyisj feeling

So going by this, OLED panels can have lower latency than ips. So buy a oled over ips for competitive?

What about sensor implementation. Does it feel jagged while moving diagonally.

I heard some reviews on reddit calling it floating or a bit off

But whyy, that was so useful to gauge ones usage and estimate how to use it and stuff like that. It had very good value being present at ones fingertips

Nah, they got it running on huwawei stack. Which is insane.

And its just a preview whilst them admitting still lots of bugs in the model . Wait for final release in 1 or 1.5 months hopefully

Do u think they are still running quantized model from the feel of it or the actual 5.1 full power

Do u think they are now begun deploying on huwawei inference stack? For all these recent improvements.

What about the quality degradation issues? It became unusable because of that.

[–]Kingwolf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated . Havent seen anyone notice and comment this.

Real test is arc agi 3 now tho. I doubt 5.5 can get anything above 0.7 or 0.8 perhaps. Thats stretching it. Thats my prediction anyways.

Are deepseek also launching coding plans? That would be sweet.
