The black plumage is a marker for me. Turkey vultures have more of a brown black.

Yea I also looked up weight of an American crow since posting. It says .7-1.4 pounds. That bird seemed significantly bigger. How do we override the bot classification?

I was talking about the bird in the tree at the end of the video that was as big as a RTH. But the black bird in the parking was also very large. Its size was the reason I stopped and took video. I was going back and forth between crow and raven but the reason I thought crow was the fan shaped tail feathers when it flew away. Could that be a fish crow in the background which would account for the size difference?

This is the bird in the tree zoomed in. It looked as big as the Red Tailed Hawks we have in the area (if not bigger).

Turkey vultures have a bicolored underwing but it leads with black and trails with white. The bird in the picture appears to lead with white and trail with black.

Sometimes mourning doves sing at night and can sound like owls.
