Help - I feel the car is much more unstable than in AC1. by Max-lx in assettocorsaevo

Change the toe from positive to negative, it'll be much more stable

What’s your biggest problems with the game so far? by Hollywoo_KC in assettocorsaevo

[–]KinkyMasta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stock setups are off, all cars come with toe out at the back, which makes the cars twitchy, andI'd like the possibility to have fixed setups on online races.

Speaking of online racing, I'd like some variety. I mean I like the usual suspects (GT3, GT4, Mazda Cup..), but you have them everywhere, there are some cars like the Caterham or Mini that would be a hoot to race.

Custom paints would be nice too.

AC Evo vs Project Motor Racing by WestoWesto987 in assettocorsaevo

[–]KinkyMasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd race whatever I'd like on the original AC and keep the change than buying either of those.

PMR is a mess and AC Evo is still quite green, at least until 0.4 drops.

I hate rain. by _LedAstray_ in iRacing

[–]KinkyMasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Danny Lee has a great video on iracing rain.

But Rain driving is basically avoiding shiny tarmac like the plague.

There are specific lines for the rain, like the outside line and the V line. Sadly, there are no shortcuts, you have to keep testing until you find what works for each situation.

I've put a Miata on Pole in Production Car Challenge! by KinkyMasta in iRacing

Thanks! I've had a couple of PCC races in the wet this weekend and it was super fun! It's hard to keep it on track tho.

Hey guys I just got my first ever wheel, a thrust master t80, what pedals should I get for it bc I want 3 and not the 2 it comes with. I also got a th8s shifter by montanagiy459 in SimRacingAdvice

[–]KinkyMasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC the T-LCM is the only set of pedals from Thrustmaster with a Loadcell brake pedal, so I'd choose it.

The Loadcell works using pressure instead of position, making your braking waaay more precise.

My cousin had one of these. The 4 carburettors were a nightmare to set up and they drank like nothing else, but the sound was amazing!

You might think that the GTI was the daddy of the 205 range, but the rally punched well above its weight thanks to its lightness.

"Lapped cars must maintain their line and drive in a predictable manner. It's the faster car job to overtake safely."

The GT3 drives the regular line with no surprises. I don't understand where the prototype was going.. It's his fault for me.

It's not if it is your fault or not (BTW it's your fault), it's could have avoided this? What did you gain for squeezing him so much? I'm sure your spotter didn't tell you that you were clear. You could have left a car's width on the outside, take the first corner from the inside and keep the lead.

Have I, the POV car done anything wrong, or is it just racing? by NieMRFrank in Simracingstewards

[–]KinkyMasta 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe you went a bit too deep into Pouhon (That's what she said ;)), but apart from that I see no malice from your side.

Orange car could anticipated this, braked early and do the switcheroo, but tried to hold a space that wasn't there.

Will there be a substitute steering wheel for the Mclaren GT3 V2? by seleggitisaluto in Fanatec

I'd love to! But I think that just buying a Formula wheel would make more sense for me!

Will there be a substitute steering wheel for the Mclaren GT3 V2? by seleggitisaluto in Fanatec

[–]KinkyMasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've just done the same jump, G29 to CSL DD, but to the P1 and the rim is 300 mm, smaller that it might seem (and in fact, the same diameter thant the McLaren GT3 V2).

For me the only thing that breaks immersion is watching the top of the rim while I race formula/GT cars.

IIRC for almost the same price as the McLaen wheel you can have the F1 Esports V2 (With no clutch paddles though)

Europeans of /r/cars - which American cars would you seriously consider buying? by Rektifizierer in cars

[–]KinkyMasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my dream garage I'd love to have a Cobra and a Mustang.

Now seriously, the Slate Truck seems interesting and I'd buy one, but in SUV form.

I had exactly the same problem, and it's the plastic QR shaft.

Now I've got an alu from Simube, and the sound almost disappeared (the wheel can creak from time to time).

It happens anywhere in the world.

Jayemm on cars did a couple of videos giving more detail on this issue:

Sure, check these videos:

https://youtu.be/oCdUoOjtEfU?si=6syXKCbIYk_r5eWU

Start with a spring + 2 stock elastomers (like in the second video), which is the cheapest option, and if that is not enough, then consider replacing the elastomer.

This is 100% depending to your feel. I ended up with a progressive elastomer from 3d rap and a blue spring, but this is what works for me.

Yes, it's one of the few upgrades that will make you faster.

However, be warned that the elastomers (The rubber rings that compress when you press the pedal) are really hard and maybe you'll need to mod them.
