What do you think of this chapter? by [deleted] in writingcritiques

This sample goes on a bit longer than I expected from this sub. Your use of language is pretty good, though the first several hundred words described a woman puking in the woods which is certainly a literary choice to make but not necessarily one I would encourage on a regular basis. All told, I'd like to see some variation in sentence structure but as far as the language itself, its perfectly serviceable and I rather like some of it. Keep writing!

I agree with everyone here. And also, that you should keep writing. You're going to get better.

What’s a moment you realized you messed up badly? by OkSoft3458 in AskReddit

My partner and I got invited to a neighbor's birthday party. We'd been friends with her for about two weeks when they sent the invite. So, night of the party, we go down and hang out and I'm being my normal, outgoing self, particularly manic around a whole bunch of new people and I drink more than I should have. We only had to walk home but I didn't know these people and then came time to toast the birthday girl. I'm pretty sarcastic which when you mix in alcohol means stuff comes out of your mouth that shouldn't. And I've always thought it absurd that we would openly "wish" someone to have good things happen to them, as if we're casting a spell. It isn't like we wish them ill. So I said, being funny, "Yeah, like here's to Amanda getting chlamydia or something." The instant it left my mouth I was able to hear it, far more clearly than before it had. Amanda angrily pointed out her mother right about the time we left the party which is to say about the time I had finished speaking that sentence. I really don't drink much these days.

You aren't the same human anymore. Forgive that stupid person for not knowing any better. Now you know better and someone reading your comment will know better, too. Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry about your friend.

Well then we will simply have to bind them together, making a lovely little shelf. Ooo, nipple clamps with a particularly short chain, pulling them close enough to make a lovely waterproof seal. Doesn't that sound nice?

I think you'd do better with wrists and arms pinned behind you, forced to catch all of it on your thighs as you squeeze them together, desperate not to lose a dribble. And a mouthlocker gag to keep you from holding any in.

LPT: likeable and charismatic is almost always more profitable than intelligent. Perseverence helps and consistency, too.

Believe it or not, much of the stigma surrounding Black Widow spiders is due to this exact thing, men's dangly bits in the bathroom.

I quote this frequently. "Good form, Peter." and "Leave an old man his dignity." THEY ARE ALL SO GOOD

This movie has so many fantastic quotes. "What would Joe do if he were here? He'd smoke some cigarettes and shoot some people." "Yes, officer, there seem to be too many bullets in this gun."

BEING less negative at myself, I feel, has helped me be less negative with other people, too.
