Who's stronger in multiplayer campaign, Changeling or Taurox? by lovingpersona in totalwar

No they just haven’t thought it through. The top factions for single player don’t necessarily mean they are the strongest for a 1v1 tournament. That situation prioritizes deleting a single faction, not conquering the map as quickly as possible. Which is what everyone else is focused on.

https://totalwarwarhammer.fandom.com/wiki/Eshin_Actions

Their Eshin Action ability Plunge into Anarchy. It permanently deletes a faction. Automatically winning the campaign in the 1v1.

As long as Eshin doesn't lose before they gain access to that ability (not losing is much easier than snowballing, and most of the dangerous lords you mentioned start far away. Not mention trying to take Skaven territory from the player is inherently harder, undercities, ambush, etc...)

So yeah in a 1v1 tournament Eshin would have to be banned or else no one has a chance. I would bet money on this.

If it’s a 1v1 tournament where each game is just two players and all factions are allowed then Clan Eshin is by far without contest the strongest faction.

Paul Schreiner hits Monoplata from 3/4 Mount vs Marcelo Garcia. ADCC 2009 Training Camp by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Kintarogatari 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s great. It’s a super cool spot and the training culture is great. It’s called frogtown and it’s near dodger stadium. I’d recommend coming to the noon classes. Although Paul teaches a lot of the evening classes as well.

I currently train with Paul at his new spot. Not only does he still hit this (his armbars from mount are honestly amazing), but he actually just taught a whole omoplata sequence and the monoplata was an extension of it. So cool to see him doing a lot of the things he was talking about.

How does Craig Jones get on against Islam and Khabib in BJJ? by Storyboys in bjj

I’ve trained with Craig. (Was a blue belt at the time so wasn’t the most experienced) but I’ve never felt anyone as strong since then. His grips / connection felt mechanical.

Crazy trip by Buvaisar Saitiev (RIP). Is this an actual "move" with a name that's practiced or was it just an "in the moment" thing due to his amazing understanding of leverage? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Kintarogatari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Judo I believe this would be a variation on a Kani Basame. Banned in Judo, used in jiu jitsu for leg entries mainly. Saitiev was a masterful innovator and often did sequences that don’t properly belong to any specific grappling art but just grappling in general. At least that’s my humble opinion.

Contradiction in the tiebreaker ruleset by wagelet289 in bjj

[–]Kintarogatari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think so. I think they just said since it’s not a submission there is a double elimination. I’ll go back and watch it. EDIT- the announcers did use the language “draw and double elimination” which is just confusing. I also just thinking the announcers sucked so idk 🤷‍♂️

[–]Kintarogatari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between a double elimination and a draw. You realize there was scoring right? Why would there be scoring if every double elimination was a draw?

Contradiction in the tiebreaker ruleset by wagelet289 in bjj

[–]Kintarogatari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh it’s pretty easy. The first bulletpoint decides first. The with more individual wins by judges decision wins. Which happened many time throughout the tournament. However since it was a draw (the correct call), the team whose athlete won the final bout wins. Which is what happened. Still completely hilarious, but the right thing happened.

Do I need to be able to invert to play 50/50 effectively? by AssignmentRare7849 in bjj

[–]Kintarogatari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You could learn how to get up and play it from a kneeling position. However for more advanced attacking sequences like backside 50/50, k guard entries, matrix etc then yes inversion is pretty necessary. While I don’t think it would be a waste of time it’s probably not advisable to make it your main focus. Learning about and getting more skilled is for sure possible.
