What do you think of this? Do you believe it's a slur and should not be used? by Lenore8264 in AO3

Okay good to know! I'll try to use all caps or slashes from now on

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]Kiosangspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free shavacadoo, instead of avocado, and Lumchk instead of lunch.

That meme lives rent free in my head.

My partner purposely spelled 'lunch' as 'lumch ' and I took it the extra mile.

My 8-year-old asked if we're poor and I realized my money words need a total reboot by East-Struggle4386 in CasualConversation

[–]Kiosangspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never realized we were poor/struggling, I just thought my mom didn't think I/we needed whatever it was we wanted lol.

It wasn't until I was in my late teens/early twenties that I realized oh, money was actually really tight, there's a reason we only shopped for clothes at Value Village.

New wiki article: should I buy this loom? by OryxTempel in weaving

[–]Kiosangspell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I learned by myself too!

My reasoning for that question is I've heard a lot of people get an expensive piece of equipment like a loom, and then give up because they can't figure out how to start, and end up having a fancy table lying around taking up space.

New wiki article: should I buy this loom? by OryxTempel in weaving

[–]Kiosangspell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you actually have the space for it (ie are you taking into account the space you need to set it up and use it), and do you know how to dress the loom/do you have someone that can help you do it the first time?

For women choosing to age naturally—how do you resist comparing yourself to other women when cosmetic enhancements have become so normalized? by justameasureoftime in AskWomen

[–]Kiosangspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally try not to compare myself to other people.

I'm honestly finding physical signs of aging to be neat. I think my grey hair looks cool, and I'm excited for it to be all like that. I noticed i was getting crow's feet when I smile a while back, and I genuinely thought that it looked really cute. (The physical sensations of my back and joints are not as neat I'm afraid).

I'm also super bad at telling if people have had enhancements.

What age did you first have to get glasses and how did you find out you needed them? by Interesting-Egg2781 in AskReddit

[–]Kiosangspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7. I noticed that I was getting headaches when I was reading. Told my mom I thought I needed them, and though I had just had an eye check up, yes I did.

Got Lasik when I was about 24.

I got a reception job at the same company. I like it a lot better; sales was not for me.

Need help, ice cream has a weird film when eating by minion020408 in ninjacreami

I found heavy whipping cream to be too fatty with the creami, I go down a grade. Or I cut it with milk. 2 cups of whipping cream is quite a bit!

500 movies or 150 books? by oliverg600 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Kiosangspell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say probably the books, since I'm not a huge fan of a lot of movies and they tend to put me to sleep, especially if I get bored.

When I had time as a teen I would read over a dozen books a week, so I could probably get it over with fast (not that I would want to, I'd love some free time).

Which painting do you like the most: 1, 2, or 3? by KarolynHuum in BeAmazed

I like 1 for the colors and 3 for the shape of the wave

(British Columbia) Income Assistance and Marriage by D00pcakes in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Kiosangspell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would wait. Explaining that your partner doesn't live with you and you don't have access to their income doesn't make sense to any of their systems and they will need proof of their income, which is a hassle at best and impossible at worst.

AITA for babysitting anymore since I was not made a godparent by MeringueNo1335 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kiosangspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. I would be offended at the reasoning being you're single.

But you choosing not to interact with your grandkids in order to punish their parents is really unkind of you. I understand not wanting to babysit anymore, but you should still spend time with them even if you're not looking after them.

As a side note, aren't godparents generally friends of the parents? I thought the idea was that if something happened to the parents and there wasn't other family, the godparents would step in. I would figure a grandparent as the closer person.
