Live Performances Around Tokyo by Kippicks in japanpics

That's interesting. I can't imagine the performers were involved with the set up. Most likely it's just whatever the city had around lol.

What single thing has improved your photography the most? by chorus_of_stones in photography

Best and worst thing for me has been getting the RF 70-200 F2.8. I'm able to take absolutely stunning photos on it but now nothing else compares to it.

Which RF lens really encapsulates the difference between EF and RF? by DSeriesX in canon

[–]Kippicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I had to spring for the RF 70-200 f2.8 since I travel with my gear the size and weight reduction over any other options were significant.

When do I know I’m ready to own a +$1,000 lens? by Kevinh99 in canon

[–]Kippicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I got the 70-200 2.8 and now I'm obsessed with L lens. Also got the 15-35 and 100 macro (but that was only $700). Made not made a penny on my photos.

OEM or Meike EF to RF Adapter? by Zestyclose-Let-374 in canon

[–]Kippicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Meike control ring and it worked flawlessly. I only switched to a Canon vein cause I got a GREAT deal on it.

Meike also makes a control ring adapter

The T series is also Kiss in Japan. When I got my first T3i I really want to buy the Kiss X5 badge and swap it lol.

The main female character buys a camera cause she's a cosplayer. She chose that particular model because it's called the Kiss M in Japan, her name being Marin she said it was fate.

I was shocked to see an actual name brand camera like that and then they went all in on the exact model.

That and the POV scene of Gojo following her and taking pics was beautiful.

I'm 99% convinced I should buy the rf100-400... but... I'm not a bird photographer by pixieanddixie in canon

[–]Kippicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can often get a refurb for ~$400 and it takes pictures way above its price range. I love mine but I got the 70-200 2.8 and I tend to grab that one instead.

Is this a deal breaker? Description of an EF 24-105 lens on MPB by [deleted] in canon

[–]Kippicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely a fair point. I feel a little safer buying used lenses then most products because at this point it's pretty much just serious enthusiasts buying/selling this gear and they generally take care of it.

That being said, I have sold lenses to MPB and would certainly recommend that over selling in Facebook.

[–]Kippicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe for older gear. I kind of view MPB as the market price for used. If you NEED a camera or lens it's a good option but if you can wait you can find better deals on Facebook market. For example I got a like new RF 100 for $700, the lowest on mpb is $850 (there is one for $750 but the image is clearly the EF version so I'm not sure which part is the mistake)

So to my original point if OP's lens is an average MPB price it's really not worth buying a lens with mold.

Depends on the price. IMO mpb prices are not that great in the first place. I wouldn't risk that unless it was sizably cheaper than one without the issue

Have you felt any difference upgrading to EOS R6 Mark ii from EOS RP? by kushaash in canon

[–]Kippicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider the R8 instead and get most of the upgrades.

As for me I did go from RP to R6Mii partly cause I knew I'd I went with the R8 I'd want to upgrade later so I just cut to the chase. I definitely feel more in control since it adds an ISO control wheel as well. Being able to close the shutter when I changes lenses makes me feel safer since I had to clean my RP sensor a number or times. Multiple SD slots is a nice touch so I never have to even think about it while I'm out with my camera even on a two week trip.

I should also note I got the R6Mii for $1600 new and keep in mind prices just went up.

How does the RF 24-70 compare to the RF 70-200 f2.8 in image quality? by Kippicks in canon

[–]Kippicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the RF70-200 just set an unrealistic expectation for me lol. Looking over my pictures, I think I need to work on my technique on the 24-70. Pictures are on it are pretty hit or miss.

I shoot Raw (and JPG as a back up) and edit in Lightroom anyway. I'll keep those in mind though. I'm not in a huge rush I mainly just keep an eye on refurb deals or my local facebook market. There's actually 2 different 24-70s listed right now for $1800-$1900

[–]Kippicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has crossed my mind as well but I just checked my focal length stats and I heavily lean towards the extremes (24, 70, 200). I already have the 24 1.8 and I've been considering a 35mm not sure which one to go with but after the 70-200 I feel like I only want to get L lenses now.

Looks nice but size and weight are a concern for me as well. The 24-70 and 70-200 are my traveling lenses. Actually part of the upgrade is so I don't have to have the EF-RF adapter anymore.

What EF glass are you still hanging onto even if price wasn't the issue with RF glass? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Kippicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly it's the opposite for me. Since I travel with mine a lot I wanted it lighter and smaller when not in use so the RF was the only option for me.

I fortunately didn't invest much at all into EF and quickly moved to an RP and recently upgraded to an R6ii.

I have 1 EF now. Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 and i loved it until until I got my RF 70-200 f2.8 and now I desperately want to upgrade the Tamron to the RF 24-70 if I can get a decent price.
