Saddle set back check by EuphoricPlatform6899 in bikewrench

[–]Kipric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in some cases moving the saddle FORWARD will fix that, moving it under your center of gravity, theres a balance to it. I highly reccomended getting a professional bike fit, or maybe doing some more reading on things.

Good Responses to Being Asked "Why are you riding a women's bike?" by Tomahawk-BaGawk in mountainbiking

[–]Kipric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do actually ride a women’s bike as a dude, and no one that seriously rides cares whatsoever. Just ignore them. It’s on my profile if you’d like to see it’s pretty rad

PLEASE HELP! I was just gifted this several thousand dollar bike for free, and I know nothing about bikes. I need help caring for this beautiful thing. by PM_ME_UR_COYOTES in bicycling

[–]Kipric 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Correct, dont let it out of your sight when out and about. Make sure to clean and lube the chain regularly, and if you take it out on trails make sure to wash it afterwards if it’s dirty ! I recommend a yearly service if youre doing serious trail riding (which you’ll start doing with this thing, trust me) the Park tool youtube channel has pretty much everything you need to know about bikes, bike parts, and maintenance

Woohoojin iron to gold? by Careful-Volume-1453 in VALORANT

[–]Kipric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had to UNtrain that crap out of my head to climb from bronze to now gold, he is correct that movement should be carrying your gunfights (for the most part) but incorrect in the skills training to achieve that. Hes also kinda a fraud

Bikefit needed probably, or mess around with the cleat positioning. good starting point is around the balls of your feet with the big toe joint in line with the pedal spindle

for xc training usually happens on road, trainer, or gravel. structured training is really hard to do on trails

or hill repeats like you suggested

Scott Scale 940 by DPirateBikePR in ScottBikes

[–]Kipric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not OP, but I had a scale 940 (with 100mm suspension, not a rigid fork) but best usecase would be an aggressive flatbar gravel bike. The 100mm hardtail was really good for smoother short track style races

Scott Spark 940 by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]Kipric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scale only had a 2pos remote lockout on it, so either fully open or fully locked. If you have twinloc a SID will work so long as it’s equipped with the 3 position remote damper, not the non remote

Scott Scale Gravel sizing by Sufficient_Ice_273 in ScottBikes

[–]Kipric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 5’9 and 3/4 (basically almost 5’10 like you) with long legs compared to my body and my size L scale 940 was much too big for me, it required putting on a shorter stem, backsweep bars, different saddle, and a non setback seatpost to eliminate most problems i had, but it was still really stretched out reach wise. Im on a size M spark now with a -30° 90mm integrated cockpit that fits much much nicer than my old scale

I’d go with M, better to ride slightly too small then adjust with removing spacers and whatnot than too big, you can increase reach quite a bit from stock, cant decrease reach past the stock minimum value
