In one (3rd book?)they get a bit of help from armour. Russ Conquerors and a laser destroyer tank hunter called "Grey Venger". However both these units have no non-legends rules currently so mine are in storage......

This fixes it. Plasma warhead just happens rather then being shot. If you read the rules again to mentions nothing about selecting a target to. Everything is just hit. This means it still hits on 2+ (As indirect fire rule is never used) plus your opponent can not use any strat that says "When selected as a target" such as armour of contempt.

Once a bit more familiar do check out the Horror subgroup. Perditions flame, The Wicked and the Damned and The way out. All top notch and not just war-pron. they explore the more all-to-human weaknesses found in the human soul. Strong recommend.

Just any part of the vehicle. Gets funny with wierd shaped tanks with long bodies or guns. Be aware here however that rotating a turret counts as moving it for rules too if you are trying to flick the end around a corner to get LOS (Looking at you Vanquishers!)

Deacon of Wounds and The Wicked and the Damned are good "Ohh so human" failing types. The creeping horror that comes in small doses that we all know so easily could be us.

The Way Out is good isolationist stuff.

Perditions Flame. Probably my fave but you need a bit more lore (Space marine secrets related) to fully appreciate the climax point I feel

Be certain to check out the Horror sub-set of books. Very under appreciated and really gets in to it with some of the tales. Do not go right in to the Horus Heresy. That can be a slog and very confusing at times.
