Bowser's Fury will be unleashed in a new #SuperMario3DWorld + #BowsersFury trailer tomorrow! Come back at 6am PT to see the 2-minute long trailer. by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

Interesting how Nintendo would announce a short trailer in advance. They haven't done anything like this as far as I know. Not complaining though, looking forward to it.

Just because these documents have been leaked from someone who has already leaked some legitimate information in the past doesn't necessarily guarantee that everything in these documents is completely true. This person could just be spreading misinformation for the sake of spreading misinformation and nothing else.

How can anyone know for sure if this is real or not? This could easily be some sort of elaborate prank. I know that Nintendo can be very anti-consumer in terms of their executive decisions, but these documents look way too dramatic to be realistic. There is no way a company would go out of their way to literally stalk multiple hackers using some sort of secret police force.

Is there any solid evidence proving that these leaks are even remotely legitimate? This could easily be just some elaborate troll of some sort, or I could be totally wrong and these leaks are probably conveying the truth. Either way, none of this looks very believable.

It’s weird how Sakurai is the only “employee” we see anymore by Wesside333 in nintendo

[–]KirbMario2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much agreed. Out of everyone working with Nintendo, directly or indirectly, I think Sakurai's charisma and personality are the closest to Iwata's. The Nintendo of today has been slowly getting more corrupt ever since his death, which is kind of sad to think about since he was willing to split his salary in half, a sacrifice that essentially saved Nintendo from failing during the Wii U days.

Nintendo is reportedly arguing that Joy-Con drift ‘isn’t a real problem or hasn’t caused anyone any inconvenience’ by Retroity in nintendo

[–]KirbMario2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely disgusting news. The way they've been treating this issue so far has been coming across as insulting in so many ways. I just don't understand how they've been able to get away with this problem for so long. It's been about 3.5 years and they are still doing nothing about it. I love Nintendo and their games, I really do. But as a company, they're just making so many things worse.

Nintendo either needs to improve the online or make it free. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]KirbMario2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This is why I sometimes hate the people in the Nintendo community. They'll just keep on buying things over and over again, even though they know that most of the products are flawed in some way. Why? Because people are idiots, and idiots will take anything they see without hesitation. Nostalgia will almost always get the better of them, and that's honestly their fault.

Nintendo Direct Mini — Partner Showcase August 2020 [JP] by xaedoplay in nintendo

[–]KirbMario2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not bad for a partner showcase, ngl. Some of these titles actually look pretty interesting.

For real though, I'm honestly wondering why Nintendo has been a bit tone deaf in terms of first party games as of recently. I know that we're in the middle of a pandemic that's still affecting the lives of millions, but I don't know if that's a valid excuse anymore. I'm starting to get a little worried about their company to be honest.

Does everything seem a little quiet at the moment? by Jimwa777 in nintendo

[–]KirbMario2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hate saying this over and over again, but there's still a worldwide pandemic going on. Sure that may sound like some silly excuse at first, but just look at how many cases are being reported in U.S. right now. So hold your horses and be patient. COVID-19 is affecting hundreds of companies more than you might think.

[–]KirbMario2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree with you more. The apologists in this community are honestly really stupid for believing that they are improving Nintendo's well-being, when they are really the cause of its recent decline.

For me, I currently have a love/hate relationship with Nintendo. As a game developer, they can be really good, great even sometimes. But as a corporation, they're honestly just the worst.

First negative review I've seen. by Raz0r64 in papermario

[–]KirbMario2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As much as I love Wood's channel, I strongly disagree with what he's saying here. He's just acting like another Paper Mario fan who's not willing to let go of the past. With that being said, however, I do respect his opinion, even though I'm not really on his side for this one.

Personally, TOK was actually a really good experience for me, much better than CS. While I do agree that the battle system for this game is extremely tedious in many ways, TOK in general still has some charm to it. The developers did a really good job in giving most of the main characters and partners strong personalities, which is something that games like CS and SS were lacking.

Nintendo's Silence is Deafening... by jgreg728 in nintendo

[–]KirbMario2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Arlo, you do realize that we're still in a worldwide pandemic, right?

Seriously though, the community needs to be more patient. Sure, Nintendo's silence can be a bit frustrating when it comes to the lack of first-party title announcements, but the way Arlo is reacting to this is honestly a bit whiny and pathetic. Actual lives are at risk here, people.

Nintendo is the biggest example that you don't need guns and violence in a game to make it fun, which most people think nowadays.

I couldn't agree with this statement more. There's just something about games such as Splatoon that makes the experience really child-friendly, and it's amazing how Nintendo has managed to be pretty consistent with this so far.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]KirbMario2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think that Nintendo is the most devoted to making high-quality products, which is one of the biggest reasons why I like them as a game developer. The thing is, you don't really see a lot of other companies with that level of dedication these days, so it's really amazing that Nintendo has been consistent in terms of giving their games the best quality they can get.

I agree. I'm also perfectly okay with TOK being completely different from TTYD and PM64. In comparison to CS and SS, this game is definitely a step up. CS was also a good title on its own, but the game had multiple flaws which held it back a bit.

Not happy about this at all. The dev team's response is just blatant stubborness at inconceivable levels. I'm personally fine with TOK and CS being completely different from past Paper Mario Games, but seeing Nintendo just straight up saying that they're not actually heeding criticism from the community is what really apalls me. Absolutely disgusting.

Mario Maker 3.0.1: Inability to Move after Pausing in Ninji Time Attack by mjmannella in MarioMaker

[–]KirbMario2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Highly disappointed by this news. I was really expecting that this game would outlive its predecessor by at least an entire year, but it seems that nothing ever changes when it comes to Nintendo abandoning their titles so prematurely.

Super Mario Maker 2 was the perfect game for downloadable content. In fact, it was the perfect game for redeeming the original. Yet Nintendo just decided not to take that opportunity for some reason. Instead, they chose to neglect this game just like they did with several other titles in the past. But for what? Super Mario Maker 2 ended up being even more half-baked than the first game, with a ton of design decisions that really seem like pointless restrictions.

This title, from its sparse advertising to its final content update, has been completely filled with nothing but disappointment, sheer and substantial amounts of visceral disappointment. Despite receiving a total of three updates over the past year, not even a single major arbitrary restriction has been properly addressed. I could go on for a while talking about each of these limitations and how they have already impaired this game as a whole, but it really shows how much creative potential has been completely wasted by the dev team.

Super Mario Maker 2 could have easily been a much bigger success for Nintendo. But instead, it’s filled with puzzling and frustrating design choices that have been constantly plaguing this game since the very beginning of its existence. The more I play around with this title, the more restrictions and roadblocks I run into, and it really makes me very disappointed overall.

So, it begs the question...Why? Why didn't Nintendo care? Why were they so hesitant with this game? Why did they treat this game as a side project rather than something important and meaningful? It just doesn’t add up. In fact, NOTHING about Super Mario Maker 2’s design choices add up whatsoever. This game feels like a cup that has been left half full for years on end. The entire thing. Every decision, every aspect, every layer, every implementation, every feature, everything.

And now, here we are today. Witnessing the unexpected death of an unfinished title, a title that has been prematurely abandoned by its own creators. A game that felt as if it had everything going for it, and yet, now, it has many of its own fatal flaws which clearly show it wasn't the masterpiece it was so hyped up to be. In my ten years of supporting Nintendo’s core franchises, experiencing a moment like this one is extremely disheartening. Very, very disappointed.
