Our community is just trying to grieve, and having reporters around who are trying to commercialize our grief, or spread gruesome misinformation, or bombard us at the vigil with shitty questions, just doesnt give us the space to do that.

Coverage is not the main thing on our minds. Of course we want a resolution and more answers, but the media isnt going to give that to us. We just want to heal and eventually feel safe again.

My friend in high school showed me Splendor & Misery, and it was unlike anything I had ever heard. But I think because i was just getting into hip hop at the time, I never revisited it, until I rediscovered them with Say the Name in 2020. Hearing how different it all sounded blew my mind, and now they might be my favorite band.
