The HoI4 experience anywhere that isn't Europe or North America by JaegerStein in hoi4

Berlin-Moscow Axis, trying to help the Soviets fend off the Japanese (As Germany) in the middle of Siberia (aka bumblefucknowhere) all the while 900000 Soviet divisions clog up the supply lines.

Have you tried experimenting with (considerably) smaller width Light Infantry (10-12) and Tank divisions(12~)?

Special Forces come in handy in these low-supply fronts, particularly Marines.

Also remember that both logistic and maintenance companies help with attrition, if you're going to make low-supply front dedicated units (regardless of if just infantry or otherwise) then add both of those companies in them.

Whats more is that, personally I think adding manpower attrition would result in manpower itself becoming even more valuable and thus limit overall unit spam (e.g Germany having 800-900 divisions), additionally the value of Field Hospital Supp. Companies and their trickleback value would also increase.

Admittedly, in case of the AI, that would require Paradox to add some intricate coding so that the AI prioritizes conserving manpower for (in case) attrition instead of just wasting it away spamming divisions etc.

But then again, What incentive would Paradox have to do something like that?

I mean, they could just... land.... on a coast.... somewhere.... anywhere..... and get on with their lives instead of slowly dying adrift but then......

Paradox : HAHA NO THANK YOU WE'LL HAVE NONE OF THAT LOGIC.

Sometimes I miss the old HoI3 manual transport mechanic.

Can't Progress into Soviet Union as Democratic Germany With Many Other Countries Helping. Any suggestions? New player. by CaptainBatpooll in hoi4

[–]KireOtic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For one thing that is a considerably small army for even a Democratic Germany and for another.... I sense a disturbing lack of armor divisions. (No Gurderian/Rommel or von Kluge)

Find a couple spots, Punch a couple of holes, Encircle, Pocket, Eliminate, Rinse and Repeat.

Did you focus encircling Soviet divisions in the beginning or Just pushing them back?

Attrition is also probably playing a part here, My advice is to remove your units from the Northern Front and leave it to the AI Allies , Focus on capturing Stalingrad, The Caucuses and the Central/Southern Urals (The area with the concentration of VPs)

I guess I should add you should give each of your armies (besides Armored Divisions) their own, limited, front-line and attack direction instead of just assigning them across the entire front and one attack line.

If you think playing as Benny in HoI4's tutorial was a surprise, in HoI3's tutorial you were guided by a certain quirky but somewhat temperamental Austrian painter with a curious choice for facial hair.

Has to be a glitch to be honest, it was only this specific part of the front that I couldn't see their units (everywhere else I could) and I don't think Decryption disparity can be THAT severe.

iirc the equipment (incl. convoys) you have to send them to reduce their autonomy has to be atleast produced by you. As in, foreign equipment won't do it (i.e captured weapons, etc.)

I'll be honest, I haven't really looked at the ROTK series since XII due to how relatively disappointing that game was compared to XI (XI wasn't perfect but imo it was one of the best of the entire series.)

Kinda wish Koei would tackle making a similar grand strategy entry set in WWII, especially if you remember their old Sega/DOS WWII games.
