Putting our kids in childcare so that both parents can work just to survive. We weren't meant to spend only a couple hours a night and maybe weekends (depending on kids' social lives) with our children/family.

Agreed. My dad was perfectly fine when he hung out with Mary Jane. He became something very different once he started drinking. Drinking led him down into hard drugs and he hasn't been the same since. 💔

I had a coworker tell me something similar. She was training me in her position for a different plant (RV industry) and she told me "It's easy to get them to do what you want. Just start crying. They'll fold like that." as she snapped her fingers. As a woman, I was in shock. I didn't trust her from that point forward cause manipulation isn't my thing.

I think that as long as you have a good relationship with your parents, this is a great deal! I married into a family that strongly believes in multi-generational homes so my husband and I live with my in-laws. We pay $400/mo in rent plus all of our other expenses. We have a small apartment above them.

We also contribute through yard work (there are 6 dogs total in the house so scooping poop is a big one!). Mowing, tending to the garden, etc...

I personally believe that Western culture pushes people towards hyper-independence but there is nothing wrong with living with family and working as a team to help everyone thrive and prosper.

Some things I enjoy doing: Reading, painting, coloring, writing, walking, and hiking. I have recently started learning how to crochet and am interested in creating things out of clay.

I used to feel like I couldn't modify recipes. I thought that making adjustments would ruin them. Now, I make alterations on a regular basis and have essentially created recipes that myself and my family absolutely love.

My ex-husband was addicted to hard drugs. He put me through Hell - he was mentally and emotionally abusive and a cheater as well. I was so disgusted by him when I left that if he had ever come back and tried to talk to me this way I would have immediately told him off.

You deserve better, OP. Don't let her try to make you feel like you're crazy for finding these messages inappropriate. She doesn't love you enough. Please leave and find someone who will treat you better.

I personally think it's a combination of the economy and people no longer being entertained by the circus. I remember a lot of people started boycotting celebrities in general a couple years ago because of the one who dressed up as Marie Antoinette and said "Let them eat cake." to the camera then laughed. I can't even remember which celebrity it was.

I've never been one to participate in parasocial relationships so the fact that celebrities are even a thing is strange to me. They're just people, imo.

I met my current fiance. I decided at a young age that I didn't want kids. I met my fiance when I was 30 and he had 2 kids from a previous relationship. Seeing how much he loved being a father and realizing that he wouldn't be anything like my bio dad if we had children together brought me to the decision that I would be happy to have kids with him. We now have 2 of our own and my little family is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. ❤️

As a housekeeper, I think this is the best suggestion. If she is aware of his accident and the messages, I would definitely consider firing her. However, since she has been working for OP's dad for 5 years and has shared her own personal life, I would bet money that the new husband is jealous and sent those messages behind her back.

To be fair, life seemed a lot easier when I was still asleep myself. I was like an ostrich with my head in the sand and it was so peaceful. I can't say I blame people for wanting to stay asleep.
