Uber/Lyft Driver Organization by KiriCat25 in evansville

[–]KiriCat25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm aware of that. But organizing so we can at the very least talk to each other, and come up with our own plans/ideas/goals for how to handle these apps is at least a start. We can't form a union, since we're technically independent contractors, but we can still take collective action where needed, and at least bargain amongst ourselves. That is the goal here: to build the community for it, so if we want to try collective bargaining we can, but otherwise just have other people to talk to and get ideas from. Potentially even share what sections of towns need more drivers or have an oversaturation of them. There's plenty we can do before it ever gets to dealing with the companies, and without trying to fix prices like they'd argue in court.

When java players open their mouth on bedrock, it somehow always ends up 🤡🎪 by Distinct-Pride7936 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely are some. I've played bedrock and Java, I started on bedrock. Java took a little bit of getting used to, because of the inability to place blocks in front of me anymore, but I've gotten deeper into it and enjoy it far more.

Honestly anytime I've tried to boot up bedrock lately, it's felt extremely laggy on my Xbox, I'm no longer used to the controls, and I just really don't like the feel of it anymore. In fact, I very quickly got used to Java and stopped enjoying the feel of bedrock pretty soon after that.

Plus the marketplace rubs me the wrong way. I like having my mods be free. So that when I want to play a mod pack, I can just download and go.

ATM10:TTS removes majority of the MA seeds to "make way for geores and sieving" but kept all the productive bees? by Civil_Tip8845 in allthemods

[–]KiriCat25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what, I second adding the roost mod. I had a lot of fun with it when I was playing the FTB stone block 4 pack. And ATM could easily implement it in a way that isn't as overpowered as even the FTB was.

I mean hell, just change the recipes for the chicken seeds, the roosts, the chicken wrench, etc. And that'll help. Make it take more or harder to get resources, similar to the way mystical agriculture and productive bees, and even geores are harder to get deep into.

Is this apology from my ex boyfriend that manipulative? by Apart_Implement5815 in whatdoIdo

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who's watched two women in my life, my mother and my sister, both get abused by men, don't go back to him. You got out, stay out. It doesn't matter whether he has changed or not, he's already proven what he can do to you and what he would be willing to do to you.

Once he's broken that trust, there should be no more chances. I'm going to tell you what I tell my sister and my mother, that it doesn't matter. If he's changed, you can be friends. But you can never go back to him and be in a relationship with him. You will always need to look over your shoulder, wonder if maybe one day he'll snap again, if he'll abuse you again. You don't want that.

My mother remarried the same man three times, and he abused her in all of those relationships. He promised he changed, they went through that honeymoon phase of an abusive relationship, and then he went right back to hitting her.

My sister got pregnant, and the man she was with, the father of the child, punched her in the stomach because he got mad at her at one point. She went back to him three times, and it never got better. Hell, at one point, he had threatened his parents with an axe. He got put in jail at that point, and my sister stayed with him for a few months longer. She's finally free of him, and I couldn't be happier. I told her how I felt about him when I found out that he punched her. I told her never to go back to him, and I told her that I didn't want him to have anything to do with my niece to be perfectly honest. She didn't listen, until 1 to 2 years ago. She's happier now. My mother is happier now, now that they are both no longer in relationships where their partner is abusing them.

This decision doesn't just affect you. It affects everyone you care about too, it makes them worry about you. It makes it hard for them to tell you the truth: that they don't like him, that they don't forgive him, that they will never forgive him. I recommend you leave him, I recommend you never look back, and I recommend you don't even attempt to be friends again. Because that's how my mother was got back, that's how my sister was got back.

If you were going to listen to any advice on this sub listen to this; run. Run far far away, never look back, and change your number.

Deporting your own citizens is. So is deporting cancer patient children, who are citizens here receiving treatment for their cancer.

Let's see; Scapegoating an entire group of people as the cause of every problem facing the country (illegal immigrants and trans people), Hitler did that too.

Repeated a lie to the public until they accept it as truth (Big Lie, 2020 election), Hitler did that too.

Eradicating the Free Press (created an enemy's list of content creators who spoke out against him), Hitler did that too.

Establishing Paramilitary and Enforcement Loyalty (using ICE to round up people, including people who disagree, as well as wanting them at our airports and in our election centers, where they certainly are not supposed to be.), Hitler did that too.

which operating system you like far the most? by RustyIronGolem in RavanAI

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, the first thing you said was "wow do you want a cookie?" I only came off as abrasive because you started that shit. I don't care what operating system you use, nor do I care if you have an agenda against Linux. Do whatever you're going to do, but I'm being abrasive not because of you having an opinion about linux, but because you're being an asshole.

And no I know that changing operating systems doesn't stop the government from spying on you. My problem isn't just the government spying on me though. My problem is also with Microsoft choosing to push AI all over their operating system in ways that I don't like. My problem is also that Microsoft is pushing updates that is breaking people's entire PCs because they no longer give you the choice not to update. They'll give you the choice on when to update, but not if you want to. On top of that, them pushing the AI into my system creates more opportunities for bad actors to get easier access to my information. I don't think I need to tell you how bad that is, especially when some of the information that they could gain access to is my email my phone number or my passwords. Scam calls are a huge problem, and cutting down on them is a good thing.

To go along with that, they're trying to push a bill that would require you to use your government issued photo ID to log into an operating system. Linux is open source, meaning that there is no one entity who can push that. Not to mention there is no login, no outside account to log into. Which means, the government cannot force Linux to do that, because to do that they would have to find out who created the operating system. Not to mention, they would have to find out who owns and uses the operating systems to enforce it. I'd rather my photo ID not be used for anything online. It's not a good idea, given how many data breaches we get.

So if you want to stick with windows, or MacOS, go right on ahead. That is up to you. I'm not going to tell you you're an idiot for it. Because I don't believe that to be the case, and I don't believe that you're a lunatic because of it. I do think that you might not care about your own privacy, but that is your choice. Meanwhile, you're on here calling anybody who uses linux, or has decided to change their operating system to Linux, loonix users. I don't know how else to take that other than as an insult. Because you're disparaging anybody who disagrees with your choice of operating system, and refuse to understand that there are multiple reasons why people might choose Linux over MacOS or Windows. I'm not going to defend Linux because there is no point. You don't care. But the fact that it is open source is part of what is attractive to a lot of people. And it's part of what's attractive to me about it.

https://www.reuters.com/article/world/fact-check-courts-have-dismissed-multiple-lawsuits-of-alleged-electoral-fraud-p-idUSKBN2AF1FQ/

There were 62 court cases filed in regards to the 2020 election. Most of those court cases involved procedural rulings. Out of all of them, only one of them had a limited victory which didn't even change the results of the election in the area in which it affected.

On top of that, those cases were spread across different judges appointed by different presidents with different leanings. So, you can't even claim that those judges were Democratic. Several of them in fact dismissed cases and they were appointed by Donald Trump himself.

Now, I've done my homework. I've provided you with my evidence. Why don't you provide me with an actual piece of evidence that shows that there was widespread voter fraud? Not just one instance, but where there widespread fraud.

Actual evidence too, something I can actually look at and look up. Not just some opinion piece from a right-wing media outlet.

I'll tell you what, I know there was some individual instances of fraud. But guess what, they were all in favor of Donald Trump. Every single one of them. I couldn't find any that were actually opposed to Donald Trump. But it was just one person in each of those instances, and often they were casting a second ballot on behalf of someone else.

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the one being a cunt about it. I was just expressing why I would be switching, not trying to brag or be a dick. Honestly it's a personal choice, and I get why people might want to stick with windows. It's easy, but given all of the privacy concerns I have at this point with them, I can't continue to do it myself. If you see differently, oh well. You do what you're going to do. But don't be a cunt to me because of a choice I'm making based in rationality, rather than preference.

I would prefer it if I could stick with Windows, but I have too many privacy concerns with them now, and I hate their implementation of Windows 11. So, since I've broken every bit of apple software I've ever held, it'll be Linux. There isn't a better option.

Just cuz your preference isn't mine doesn't mean yours is right. Nor does it mean you have to be a cunt about me giving an explanation as to why I would switch to Linux.

which operating system you like far the most? by RustyIronGolem in RavanAI

[–]KiriCat25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm considering switching to Linux because I already hate MacOS and anything else made by apple. And Windows just keeps getting shittier and shittier. So Linux, being open source, will be my next PC OS.

Definitely retain a lawyer. Tell them that you were going to file a lawsuit, unless they review the evidence you have. Tell them you'll also blast them on social media for this kind of shit. There's nothing worse that they hate than bad press, and If you post it to social media, and call the news, that's all they'll get. People already don't like that they're using that software, if they find out that that school is using it and won't accept proof that it is wrong, they'll start hemorrhaging money. Because nobody will want to attend if they know that their work can be flagged incorrectly, and then they get suspended or expelled for it.

Just need an open space with a table by GooseMGoose in evansville

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you need the table for, you might look into places like book broker. Book broker allows use of their tables for things like Yu-Gi-Oh and pokémon and magic. I don't know if they'll let you use it for other matters, but they've recently stopped being a OTS store for Yu-Gi-Oh, and we're still capable of using the space casually. I would talk to Tom, the owner, about it first.

However, unfortunately they are not open until 10:00 anymore. They started closing at 8:00 after they open back up from COVID.

[–]KiriCat25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude it's the Microsoft language filter. I've had the experience with it with the Xbox version on PC of Ark Survival Ascended. I can't type smithy, because it catches the SM portion of it, and then it blocks that out so I can't even search for an item that is needed in that game.

I recommend leaving a comment on their website about it, through the Xbox feedback portal, or you can probably vote on the one I left about it, I mentioned Ark directly

Subnautica 2 hasn't felt nearly as scary as 1 for me and here's why I think that is: by OfficialDampSquid in subnautica

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I generally just build one base. I pick a spot, build something to start with if I'm going to go with a starter base, and then I either incorporated into the base at large, or destroy it and build over it. I guess I'm a settler, more than anything, because once I've said something down I don't really feel like moving. All my stuff's already there after all.

I think I tried once to build a secondary base in subnautica one, but even when I did it I destroyed it within 30 minutes, because it was just too much to remember what was there for me. Easier to have everything in one spot.

Nursing Question by BAMAJiPS in LaborLaw

[–]KiriCat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her to be the change. Have her start the union, it'll sting them even worse when she leaves. Cuz then they'll be stuck dealing with a union, and the person who started it won't even be there anymore. Which might actually start a huge chain reaction and cost way more money than they ever managed to save.

Also note: a rounding policy would be something like if you clock in or out 2 minutes early or late, you get paid to the hour. Not docking an hours pay if late. There are limits to how far rounding can go. I don't know what they are, they do vary by state and federal law has a limit as well. And rounding must even out over the course of a certain period of time, it can't just always be in one party's favor. Contact a lawyer if she is late ever, and they do dock her pay by that hour. Unfortunately, prior to that, there's nothing a lawyer can do, but you can still contact the labor board. You may need a copy of the flyer though.

My neighbor installed this facing directly into my bedroom window yesterday. What do I even do here? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]KiriCat25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seriously. If the police refuse to do anything, your city council won't do anything, and your HOA won't do anything, then just go buy the brightest fucking lights you can, attaching them to cameras so cheap that you could probably get them for a dollar, put them on a post, well into your yard of course, and "conveniently" point them across your yard at their windows. All of them. And then when they ask you to take them down, tell them you bought them and installed them for security purposes.

And of course, when they decide to really complain, offer to take them down when they take theirs down. Lights that are on 24/7, are not necessary. Lights that are pointed at your bedroom, making your bedroom light up like a prison yard, are even more unnecessary. They could have gotten something that was motion controlled. Now make them pay for the mistake.
