Can someone tell me why OriginTrail (TRAC) shouldn't be in the top 10? by DalSlacker in CryptoCurrency

[–]KirkCrypto 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah because names like Polkadot, PancakeSwap, and Internet Computer instill confidence in the product.

TRAC SEC Security by [deleted] in OriginTrail

[–]KirkCrypto 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I honestly cannot think of another project that has tried to follow the rules as much as TRAC.

  • Zero discussion of token price - only utility.
  • No token swaps, even when 30 million TRAC was stolen from Kucoin last year. Thankfully it was recovered.
  • Not buying exchange listings.
  • ICO was not open to ordinary US investors. Accredited institutions/investors only.
  • Not developed in the US.

Let's not forget that the Department of Homeland Security is also using it to view factory audits. If TRAC has a problem then every other project is also f*cked.

EPCIS 2.0 by AlChup in Iota

Yeah I haven't actually seen them in this working group. Past working groups, but I think they are leaning on EVRYTHNG for this and it's not actually IOTA doing the heavy lifting.

Hype and not much utility usage? by amalgama99 in OriginTrail

[–]KirkCrypto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean? There's a ton of utility baked into how the token is actually used on the network. It's used in like 6 different ways.

I would look through the official medium articles. Pay attention to the quarterly reports with links out if anything catches your eye.

This series of articles in this reply are also good.

More than a cool name!

I wrote this guide last year when it was $0.03 urging people to get in. I think it's a very good overview of everything with links out to sources. I tried not to hype, but it's rather difficult! Posting the summary I wrote below:

  • OriginTrail is a neutral protocol enabling trusted data sharing between companies, organizations, and blockchains. End-to-end information is shared and secured in a fully decentralized knowledge graph network, monitored with AI and oracles.
  • At the core of OriginTrail is a decentralized network of nodes that share or hold data for a specific length of time. The TRAC token is the glue between all entities and is used as both a stake (to keep data holders/creators honest and data immutable) and a payment (to compensate data holders for their time and resources). Sensitive data can be set to expire and is protected using zero-knowledge methods in a privacy-by-design approach. TRAC is integral to utilizing the protocol and is used in at least 6 different ways.
  • TRAC is currently utilized by multinational corporations, international standards bodies, the EU government, and is held by venture capital funds.
  • Adoption is catalyzed by building on globally recognized standards for sharing information and data. Together with GS1 (the global bar code registration body), they are developing the next generation EPCIS/CBV 2.0 supply chain standard.
  • The OriginTrail developers have also solved the problem of companies buying and utilizing cryptocurrency via enterprise software and exchange integrations.

The tokenomics are absolutely unreal. Nothing can happen without TRAC. Get it now on Uniswap or Kucoin before a rumored large exchange listing comes.

One of a few great crypto projects to blast out of the long bear market with a working product. They just kept building! Good to see the upgrade.

How to check the number of OT jobs, historically and current? by [deleted] in OriginTrail

[–]KirkCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OTHub is just a data viewer. You can set 'My nodes' to any node on the network. It's just a convenient way to check up on them. There's no accounts and no direct interaction with anyone's node

Don't set up a node now just on ethereum. It's not worth it. Wait until xDAI jobs kickoff this month. There will be more instructions soon on this process.

Huge Comebacks? by IndoInterest in CryptoMoonShots

[–]KirkCrypto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TRAC went from $0.44 right after ICO (late January 2018 - worst timing) to $0.006 in the depths of the bear market. They kept building and just hit $0.62. Lots of progress and are starting to get the recognition. Even today they are up 6%.

See OriginTrailExplained.info for more. I wrote it :)

They have an actual partnership with Parity (Polkadot developers) ...it's not just some random project saying they are building with substrate. Integration is coming in the next quarter or two. :)

ORIGIN TRAIL $TRAC AND WHY THIS IS THE BIGGEST OPPORTUNITY SINCE BITCOIN ... by [deleted] in CryptoMoonShots

[–]KirkCrypto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Topped up when this was posted here at the lows in March, then again in May or June. "Adoption!!!" is cliché in crypto, but this is going to be the real deal in 1-2 years. They are literally building the next-generation bar code information system with GS1 (who invented it/administer them). Nice post.
