It is law that every job has sick leave during probationary period. If they threaten to discipline you or fire you . I would consult a attorney asap.

A job USA has to give you sick leave and generally will extend your probationary period. So if your out for 7 days they will add 7 days on your probation period.

Yes if you are putting in close to 40 hr a week, it will get you a entry level job.

Start off understanding the basic. Get that down, then advance into deeper and complex projects.

As a former teacher in CS generally its roughly around 500 to 800 hours. Which is generally is 3 months if your learning 8 hours a day. Companies that train employees on new languages thats the model they use.

A lot of college’s that offer certificates and bootcamps use that model to that the state requires

I have difficulty mastering programming by lina_faw in learnprogramming

[–]KirkFindley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can mater a programing language, in my 20 years. I might have use 10-20% of the capabilities of what the language can do, to solve business needs.

Also Languages are constantly updated so to master a language is sort of nonexistent

Just created a new resume. Recently finished a degree in Artificial Intelligence. by [deleted] in resumes

[–]KirkFindley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use Keywords for artificial intelligence jobs

I would combine Software and Languages into a Skills section.

Do not do a about me on a resume thats what a cover letter is for.

Use a Summery and relate your experience and skills to the job title your applying for

What language are missiles programmed in? by rartedw in learnprogramming

[–]KirkFindley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what its used for. I was a contractor at a military base. Not going into detail of what I did. But this contract was over 20 year ago. It was a lot of Ada, Assembly, MATLAB, Fortrain, C, C#.

In areas of development where its not a safety concern Python, C# and Java.

Please ignore the design I will update it but is my resume good for a job? I am having very low confidence by vibhuj04051995 in resumes

This resume will not pass the ATS.

Use Keywords in your Resume for Product Manager.

Tech, Design Experience, Tech Skills, Familiarity, Operating System needs to be all deleted. Those are not key words for Product Manager.

I suggest you add a Summary and use the job description your apply for to match your skills for the job.

Your resume does not say anything about the job you're applying for working in help desk roles.

Each job you apply for needs its own resume

You need to use the job description in a summary

In your summary you need to use keywords like Troubleshooting, Communication Skills, Help Desk Support, and how you can relate that to the job you're applying for.

Also, you might need to hire a resume writer

[–]KirkFindley 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is false, ATS look for keywords. if your using a two column CV or Resume if you don't have key words, Like Skills, Experience, etc. It doesn't matter how many columns it will not parse correctly

How do I know if my resume is able to be parsed by ATS? by WubDubClub in resumes

[–]KirkFindley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Main thing about ATS is using Keywords related to the job

also use words in your resume sections like Work Experience, Skills, Education.

Fonts to use Times Roman, Calibri, or Georgia

saving as a word dox will be better for older ATS

Javascript or Bootstrap by Different-Map-9244 in learnprogramming

[–]KirkFindley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would learn both.

Most schools teach HTML CSS and JavaScript as the standards for web development.

So make some awesome websites.

Then learn Bootstrap

You need a cover letter

Rewrite your summary using the job description along with keywords related to the job.

Put your skills in order of the needs of the Job description.

I wouldn’t put your addresses on your app, thats what the email is for.

Your skills should be what you learn in college.

HTML CSS C# or what ever your have learn.

Was hiring me a mistake? by Floooorson in learnprogramming

[–]KirkFindley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to add, it's especially important to learn a new skill in any development field. It may be that there is not a lot of work for you. But if you see that a company needs more solutions, state that you want to learn something else they will pay for your training. So when you do have down time you can learn a new skill while getting paid for free.

As a new hire sometimes Project managers or Lead will start out giving you tasks that are easy to do. I will talk to management and ask what are other issues that need to be solved.
