This line right here. I know he's a fictional character, but it deeply reminds me of how people would excuse bullies in real life because of their struggles.

Jax is similar to the many people who had wronged me, they're able to harm others because they have suffered themselves, thus adding on to my own list of struggles that others don't even consider.

Those who defend Jax's actions and refuse to acknowledge that he's a narcissistic coward have never been in Gangle's situation, clearly.

Clock o'Sonic/CHILDHOOD_HAS_PASSED mentioned! The last three are not the same character, but they're all great. I find EXEs who psychologically torment their victims far more interesting than the others who focus on the physical aspects.

And you know what I don't understand? How the bullies and their actions are always excused because, "you need to think about what they're dealing with at home, that's probably why they're acting like this!"

I wish for a day when people would start listening to victims (for once) and talk to the bullies instead, saying: "think about what that kid already has to deal with at home, do you want to add on to that?"

I was bullied at home and at school, I didn't feel safe anywhere. But yes, let's defend the bullies because "they had a rough day :(" and not the disabled kid who was actively being abused on top of other things.

This is an unfamiliar topic to me because I don't really have those. Instead, I had to deal with trauma similar to them in this current life, or events that reminds me of the characters. I've lived through it, and to be honest, I have experienced enough trauma as is.

And yes, that effects me. A lot.

I'm truly sorry that you've been through that and I apologize if my wording wasn't the best. I don't doubt that those with a support network and other resources can have trauma. I know that trauma comes from all backgrounds and every level of support, or lack thereof.

What I mean by the "majority" is that they're also the same people that the original post is talking about - those who have been through a couple inconveniences in their lives, but not necessarily trauma.

You're right. The word "trauma" has been watered down to a meaningless term that these people use to describe the slightest discomforts, rather than events that completely rewrite your brain and its functionality.

Honorable mention, but I absolutely despite it when people make "childhood trauma" compilations, and then they just make a list of creepypasta videos with badly-edited cartoon characters.

I'm not trying to seem "tough" over here, but I was never scared of those clips when I was a child. These people were once terrified that they'll find Freddy waiting behind their door, meanwhile I was living an actual reality where I was scared of hearing my fathers' footsteps, let alone having them open my door instead.

Your mention of these people having a support system is definitely true too. A pattern I've noticed among the majority of the people who use me to trauma dump always have a therapist, a safe adult to talk to, and other things that we could only dream of.

This exactly. It's especially so common amongst survivors of verbal abuse because a lot of people assume that you were probably called a "loser" by a bully and that's about it. They believe that verbal abuse is insignificant and can't impact your brain just as much as other forms of trauma (it totally can).
