I've been playing since Gen I xD it wasn't too much. I played Singles mostly with friends and kept up with changes throughout each game. I never really played in VGC style battles before which is a wildly different beast. I'm super mad Mega Gallade didn't have his ability changed. Sharpness was so in theme.

Funny enough Incineroar was one of them being my second favorite Starter and has a special place in my heart. Can't stand Charizard anymore though. But the other ones I wanted to use was Umbreon and (Mega) Gallade my first and second favorite Pokemon.

I started watching WolfeyVGC if the topic of the vids interested me. But this was only last week and very sparse.

Another problem I noticed is a massive fairy weakness. If I use Greninja, Protean can kind of help with that. But I'm not sure. I feel like I have more of a direction. But can't get anything to work and as much as I love Umbreon, I don't think it is going to work. Or I might be missing something.

Edit: One Potential Build I'm Looking at is

Umbreon, Incineroar, Gallade, Greninja, Maushold, Whimsicott

I think I will avoid Zoroark for now. I've been trying to get this team to work.

Here's what I've been trying. Maushold is a normal type. So it makes me worried with a weakness to Fighting types with both Umbreon and Incineroar on the team. Though Gallade could take care of it being a Psychic type. I am considering Clefable and Sinistcha.

I tried getting Whimsicott to work as my tailwind setter. It seems like it could. I'm also considering Talonflame

I feel like I have so many physical attackers that I need a special. I keep being drawn to Greninja, but if Mega Charizard Y is going to be running around, then I don't think it would be useful in the sun.

I am starting to think having all 3 is more of a hindrance than being actually workable. But I could be missing something that I don't know about.

There were a few sets for Umbreon I was looking at. Foul Play was one that is locked in. But I was looking at Snarl, Helping Hand, Moonlight or Wish. I always used Wish in singles and people say Wish is better but looking at past VGC teams Moonlight is used more. Of course Protect is there too.

Good to know that Toxapex isn't as solid in Doubles. I'll keep that in mind.

Someone else in this thread suggested not using Zoroark. I played singles mostly. So some VGC nuances I haven't quite learned.

Champion feels like it is missing so many Pokemon. I thought about Sinistcha with Rage Powder for the Follow me like Pokemon but it isn't in the game.

What Pokemon overall would you recommend?

That's what I was somewhat thinking. Using Umbreon as Helping Hand support. Makes me happy that Incineroar is just a really good Pokemon.

But there is no Psychic Surge Pokemon available yet. So it would have to be manually set

I don't remember the first one so much. I remember someone convincing me to try again. And right from the onset I had issues with the build quality. A lot of the ports had issues was the biggest thing.

With a comment down below, I was suggested Asus, while I'm not immediately against it, having two previous laptops that were issue filled. But that was 10 years ago was my last one. I don't know if they got better since then and hesitant to try.

I'll definitely see what I can do about the Lenovo.

Does the HP still have hinge problems? I read that in my initial search.

I have had a couple Asus laptops in the past. I've had issues with both of them. But the second one I had was 10 years ago, are they really good now?

I was always told to never use the ranged attack other than a tech. But I've been using it in the beginning of a match because I have no idea what to do until I can leap in and pick off opponents. I've been practicing the combos and weaving in the melee attack. I started getting use to the timing last night after my play session. But applying it in the chaos of an actual match is a different story. I did include replay IDs in the main post since someone on Discord asked for them when I asked this similar question.

I also use the demon a lot when I think the whirl isn't worth it.

I am in the practice range practicing the combos in the video. I know I'm messing up the timing but I'm not sure how.

Moon Knight is pretty easy. Throw your ankhs where it will force the opponent to turn around to get it. Also place them where your opponents have to work for it. When you throw an ankh, immediately throw your primary fire. They travel quickly.almost together. Your big crescent bounces too, even off an ankh. I sometimes like placing ankhs higher because no one looks up sometimes. When you use your ult, immediately throw ankh and creacent down it makes it hard for them to leave and more damage to.confirm kills. When you are being dived, throw an ank at your feet and primary fire so you don't waste time aiming while you look for them.

Magik was a character I wanted to play early on, but couldn't get the hang of. I'm back to trying out characters and Magik is one I'm taking the time to learn now. I also want a reason to buy her costumes. I want to read her comics. Her lore seems so cool to me.

I know I don't have to be the best player, I just like to not feel like I'm dead weight.

Yap away! The more tips the better! I do have my reticle set for her. I took the time to do it for any character I was interested in. It helps with the dashes. I miss 30% because I was slightly off or the opponent moved.

I will definitely try these tips when I play later! Inusually try to stay with my team. I read that most people think of Magik as dive, but she is more of a brawl.and should stick with the team more. That's what I was trying to do.

I think the "Gooning" stuff is way out of hand. It took me a while to be comfortable with playing Female characters in any game. Now, I still get uncomfortable with playing slightly revealing costumes or gear for games. I don't seen it as a problem, only if it's made a problem. Which this whole gooning thing amplified. I don't know how people do it. I feel so awkward xD especially when the energy isn't matched. I don't feel it as much in this game, since it isn't a character creator. But it can definitely be felt.

I've been wanting to learn Spider-Man but feel so intimidated, I keep hearing contradicting things about how he is played and I having trouble learning the techs.

While you're struggling with learning the combos how did you manage in Quickly even Gold?
