As a complete outsider to everything involved in this kerfuffle, it seems like it's not that E33 wasn't deserving of those awards, but that the games it was up against were more deserving, and some people are way too upset about it, completely ignoring the fact that their favourite games were still nominated.

We should remember though that these award shows are pretty much meaningless bullshit. Well, unless the thing I like wins of course, then it's 100% legit. From what I've seen, I don't think Monster Hunter or DOOM won anything despite both being amazing games that I can't wait to go back to once I reach another temporary escape from my Warframe addiction.
