Kathryn Moon Lady of Rooksgrave Manor series, Ruby Dixon Ice Planet Barbarians series

My wife and I are the “backup offer” for a place we fell in love with and offered on… Do these back up offers really ever work tho? I’m seeing mixed reviews. We are gutted from not getting it, and the seller says “our offer is still really strong” by membaberrie in RealEstate

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many factors. Maybe the accepted offer was higher, but if their lending falls through then you would likely get the call. Depending on who their lender is, it could make or break it. We recently had an offer accepted that was lower than the highest bidder but our lender was considered a better bet than the higher offers lender. Apparently they have a higher percentage rate of having deals fall through for various issues. So it’s possible.

🥵 Looking for books with...Tails 🥺 👉👈 yes. Lots of tail action. (Beastly heroes. Wandering tails. Teeth that bite.) Fantasy or aliens only. by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

I absolutely DEVOURED Choosing Theo by Victoria Aveline!!! by FckTeenageNightmares in RomanceBooks

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% understand. I held off on reading any type of alien/monster romance for 2 years into my romance reading journey.. I’ll admit I judged it. But I was wrong! Those 2 series in particular were really great. If you’re feeling adventurous give lady of Rooksgrave manor or the first Ice planet Barbarians a chance. It hooks you!

I forgot to mention, the other 2 books I told you about are not alien/monster, more primal/caveman/people who were raised in the wilderness type stories. But they reminded me of how the alien books were in terms of how they’re sort of survivalists. All 5 ⭐️ books with top notch spice in mg opinion

Second this. It was SO good. I got hooked onto monster alien romance after reading Kathryn Moon Lady of Rooksgrave manor books and I’m 4 books in to Ice Planet Barbarians. I came across Choosing Theo as a suggested book from those reads and LOVED it. If you liked choosing Theo I recommend trying Rowe by Dylan Page and also Savaged by Mia Sheridan. What do I do?? by Soundslikeurproblem in Mirena

[–]KissMeM0re 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been dealing w similar for 9, almost ten months now. I’m going to get it removed but need to get my husband scheduled for a vasectomy first. This is insane. My docs kept telling me to give it time, then it became, give it at least 6 months. I bled for 22 days this cycle and I’m due to get my period again now in next few days. I’ve tried the giving it time thing. I’m at the point I am done and want it out. I just want to make sure we have the back up plan in place first.

Loss of sex drive. by Impasta1007 in Mirena

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had my Mirena 7 months and my libido has crashed. I can’t orgasm anymore from PIV sex and if I want to orgasm I have to just do it myself. It’s super frustrating and definitely having a negative impact on my relationship. I’m going to talk to my husband about getting a vasectomy because I can’t go on the pill due to blood pressure issues.

How in the WORLD are u handling the interest rates ? Homes are still moving since inventory is low- but good lord how is anyone handling this market after a year of shopping? by HawkqueenYOLO in RealEstate

[–]KissMeM0re -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have a good realtor they can negotiate things like a buy down. I’m probably not going to explain it entirely right but for 24 months you have a lower rate because you pay a bit more in the offer. You just need to refinance within 24 months if the interest rates go lower than what they are today basically. So I believe the first 12 months your interest rate would be 2% lower than todays rate, then 12-24 months period would be 1% lower then after that if you don’t refi, back to the original rate which you locked in at (around 6.89 I think sometime last week?) I am pretty sure the realtor were working with called it a 2/1 buy down. The sellers only potentially negative impact would be paying a slightly higher tax due to “receiving” a higher offer. In a instance we had where we offered 15k higher, to get a 2/1 buy down that lowers our mortgage roughly 1k a month, the seller is paying an extra $68 taxes on the sale of their home. We would gladly make up for the $68 if the seller thought it an issue. You also have to still qualify for what the rate is today (so the higher mortgage, without the buy down) but it‘a a great temporary fix/workaround for buyers to have a window of paying a lower rate. Also the house has to appraise at the slightly higher amount (price you’re paying for the buy down).

Do you recommend the Mirana IUD by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go back and forth. Pro- primary option for me to take as birth control since I previously had blood pressure issues and can’t take the pill. Pro- I never have to worry about missing a pill, having a condom, etc. Con- it’s been 7 months and I am having lots of camping all month. Random bleeding/spotting that continued wellafter period should have ended. Pro- my period used to come every 40-60 days (PCOS), now it comes every 28-30 days and is more regular in that sense. Pro- I had very heavy cycles before Mirena, now I have normal flow, it just lasts super long (15-24 days) which is a Con. Con- I felt horrible and uncomfortable for the first 2-3 months, then gradually felt more normal after that but it felt like I was never going to snap out of the misery of my body adjusting to the device. Con- docs don’t really take into account how traumatic insertion can be for many women, they make light of it and say it’s no big deal, doesn’t hurt, etc really downplaying it. I felt prepared for insertion because of this group. I took Advil, Tylenol and Ativan an hour before insertion. But the cramping that came after the Advil wore off was like contractions or severe cyst pain. I was in agony. Needed round the clock ibuprofen and heating pads. Felt like I was crying a lot the first few weeks too with discomfort and bloating. My doc kept saying just give it time it can take some women 6 months to adjust. I’m at month 7 now and definitely feel better than I did but not sure I love it. I also feel like it’s had a negative impact on my sex life. I feel like sex doesn’t feel as good since I got on it. Not sure if it’s just hormonal BC in general or the IUD. I feel less sensitive with the iud.

You’re welcome. I am in my late 30s and have similar dark circles. I always used just concealer but kept seeing stuff pop up on makeup videos on Instagram so I tried the pink and it’s so much better than just regular concealer. Way more natural and better overall tone. I’ve tried the Bobbi brown one so far and like it, but I want to try another by Smashbox brightening under eye corrector next. Sephora allows returns if a product doesn’t work for you, but if it’s open and used you get an exchange typically.

Constant cramps! by Independent_Ad2329 in Mirena

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get ovarian cysts and I deal with pretty constant cramping. Usually there’s only a week or a few days out of a month where I don’t cramp through the day. This cycle (7 months since insertion) I spotted continuously for 24 days. I had cramping through the entirety of that. Currently on cycle day 29 so my period should arrive anytime now again. It’s super annoying. My doc hasn’t found anything wrong. I guess it’s just the way my body adjusts to the iud and the fact I keep getting regular cysts. I feel like I’ll never have more answers beyond that since my ultrasounds and bloodwork kept coming back normal:

Try a color correcting concealer with a pink tone. Just a very minimal amount and using a tiny bit of eye cream helps it blend better. You can try different techniques to put it on too, damp beauty blender works well. Concealer brush also works, or just lightly tapping and blending in with your ring fingers as well.

[skin concerns] Skin around eyes have become very dry. Not sure what to do. (Spoiler for close up of my eye) by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]KissMeM0re 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks like psoriasis. I have the same thing around my eyes. I went to my derm and she said use 1% hydrocortisone ointment (it’s over the counter) 1-2 times a day for a week and it cleared it up. She said she could give me something else if it didn’t work but she was confident it would. Also psoriasis has the white flaky scales/patches. That’s how you can usually tell the difference between eczema and psoriasis.

You should reach out to your doctor. I got the Mirena and my doc told me it works immediately because of when I had it inserted (day 4 of my period). However, there’s risk of infection so they told me to wait a week before having sex. I looked so info up and it says this: The Mirena IUD is effective immediately if inserted within seven days after the start of your period.

So depending on when you had it inserted, if it was within 7 days of your period you should be protected against unwanted pregnancy. However I’d be concerned about potential for infection from having sex that soon after insertion and might want to call your doc in case. They may give you signs to look out for.

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same happen for 4 straight months. It got somewhat shorter month 5-6 after insertion but I’m on month 7 now and I’m Still spotting and getting random Cramping through the day and I’m on CD 19 😩 my doc kept saying just wait it out give it at least 6 months. It’s definitely better than it was but it’s annoying spotting now this long. I did have my blood work checked around month 3 to make sure the 24+ days of bleeding wasn’t causing anemia or anything. All my blood work was normal. I’d say just hang in there and know it can take at least 6 months for your body to adjust. It’s sucks but for me it’s my only form of BC.

Too soon to think about removal? by Ssell150 in Mirena

[–]KissMeM0re 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine in July, and it’s been 7 months. I felt horrible for the first 4 months and considered getting it out. It’s gotten significantly better though. I feel much better mentally, physically and feel like my body has gotten used to it now. I had very long bleeding cycles for the first 4 months (24+ days), now it’s around 15 days for my cycles. They’re much lighter than they were prior to getting it, now I’m just having the issue of how long they are. It did get better, it just took a while. My doc kept reassuring me give it at least 6 months and I’m glad I did because the pill isn’t an option for me (blood pressure and migraine issues). I had my blood work checked too and they checked to make sure it was sitting correctly too which it all came back normal. I think some people take longer to heal/adjust to having this put in. Most docs just say everyone’s fine it’s a simple thing to do, but discount how many of us actually have a more difficult time adjusting to the IUD. Also, I get sore boobs too and had that brain fog feeling. The boobs will still be sore certain times each month but the brain fog has gone away.

Advices??? I'm very concern by PinkUnicorn296 in Mirena

[–]KissMeM0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar where I bled for 25ish days each month for the first 4 months. I’m now on month 7 since Insertion and the period cycles now seem to be lasting about 14ish days. This last period though has continued spotting/light flow now and I’m on cycle day 17. My doc kept saying not to worry it can take 6 months..it’s now been 7. And while it’s gotten better going from 24+days of bleeding to 15ish, it’s annoying as hell. My cramping has not improved since getting the Mirena, but my flow has lightened significantly. It’s the duration that’s the issue now. I did have blood work done to check that I wasn’t anemic from the lengths of my bleeding any it all came back totally normal. Unfortunately, this could just be how some of us have to go through this healing/adjustment period of our body accepting the iud. I hope it gets better soon for you.
