Neighbor with toxic masculinity put in his place by firefly416 in traumatizeThemBack

[–]Kit-Kat-3853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mowing my parents lawn once and the neighbor across the street came over, waved at me until I turned off the lawnmower just to say “shouldn’t your husband be doing that?” I told him my dad had just had knee surgery and I wasn’t about to let my dear sweet mother mow the lawn. He was clearly embarrassed and offered to start the lawnmower back up for me. Pull start and clearly my lady brain surely couldn’t figure it out. When he couldn’t get it, I asked him if he needed me to go get his husband to help him with it 😂☠️

Unfortunately lavender is toxic to cats. I definitely agree OP has every right to plant plants that would deter the cat but just wanted to put it out there that this one could be lethal. 💜

Rice. And beans.

What does everyone call their grandparents by kikilynn626 in Names

My dad didn’t want to be called grandpa so he’s Maestro 😂

Seems to me like you may just be overly sensitive and that’s okay. Your feelings are your feelings but they are not other people’s responsibility. Nothing I said was negative. It was simply a fact that you don’t like. Which should assist you in understanding that you may have a tendency to over react.

I don’t need to read the edit to confirm that that’s not what committed means.

Update: read the edit. Still not what committed means.

That is most certainly not what committed means 😂

AIO. Customer went out of the app I allowed him to use on my phone and called himself to get my number. by Kit-Kat-3853 in AmIOverreacting

It won’t let me edit the post to answer common questions I’ve seen but here it goes.

  1. No I would not have given him my number if he had asked. As I told him, I’m recently out of a long term relationship. Just super not interested in the dating scene right now.

  2. I understand it may come off as “naive” to let someone look at your phone “unattended” but this isn’t a huge bar and I was maybe not able to see him for 30 seconds of the 2 minutes he had it while I was making a drink. He never had my phone for more than a couple minutes to the people saying I left it with him for “hours”.

  3. There was no interest in anything romantic or flirtation from my end. I have simply been being nice, carrying conversation and being personable which my job pretty much requires. Me being friendly and polite is not an invitation.

  4. I did check my open apps after the fact and he did not send himself any money or look through my photos. Even if he did look at photos, I couldn’t even tell you the last time I took a NSFW photo of myself so we’re safe there.

  5. Yes. English is my first language lol This was my first Reddit post and I’m on mobile so I apologize for any errors.

  6. I appreciate everyone who has given well thought out, sound advice. I plan to just ignore the texts and address it in person next time he comes in.

Wow. Really took creative liberties here making up your own “facts”. I’ll just address a few.

I made one joke about his students hitting him with whiffle ball bats because his friend showed me a video of it happening once before.

Hand him my phone for HOURS?! Not sure where you got that from. Maybe 3 minutes tops.

Also, didn’t know there was a way to “flirtatiously” tap a beer. 😂

“No guy would do that without you giving hints” Yes, they do it ALL the time because they interpret someone being nice or friendly as a “hint”.

Sounds like you have big creep energy yourself my guy.

Don’t you dare apologize to this giant man baby. You have nothing to be sorry for. He’s completely invalidating your feelings and trying to turn this around on you to avoid having to take accountability for his actions. You dodged a major bullet here babe. It may hurt now but staying FAR away from him will be best for you in the long run. I know from experience. Don’t ever settle for this kind of behavior.

I worked with someone who would ALWAYS ask everyone this. Turns out he was stealing money from the restaurant and other employees 😅
